These magical golden bee earrings are a very special and unique piece of art!! They are 24k gold plated and have a beautiful 18k yellow gold colour. After having received an amazing bee donation of naturally deceased English honey bees, I carefully prepared them for the lengthy copper electroforming process. This one little guy stood out for me with all its six legs intact, its wings in the air and long tongue sticking out. I decided to have a mould made of the orginal master bee and have it cast in 100% recycled metal in Hatton Garden, London. These special bee earrings come on sterling silver ear wires. Dimensions: approx. 15 mm x 12 mm (bee size) The piece comes beautifully packaged in a gift box. To protect your gold plated jewellery from tarnishing, avoid contact with water, cremes, gels, make-up and perfumes. To remove any tarnish from your gold plated and silver jewellery, simply dip the piece into a specialist liquid cleaner for silver jewellery. Although the piece comes with a thick golden layer, the plating will wear off over time. I am happy to repolish and replate your jewellery at a small charge.
A surprisingly "tall" honey bee visiting the altar of the flying seagull. Many blossoms of the gray nickerbean plant (Caesalpinia bonduc) have a distinctive red "flying bird" design on one of their petals. This photo was taken early Friday morning at Munyon Island while the nickerbeans were buzzing with pollinators humming happy harmonies! Honey bees, carpenter bees, leafcutter bees, halictid bees and butterflies all joined in making sure their will be plenty of sea beans next year.

This is a beautiful Art Deco period honey jar in glass with sterling silver lid and spoon by R Blackinton circa 1920. The bee has a gold wash and cast with wonderful details. Well taken care of. The lid and spoon are hallmarked with Blackinton marks as shown and the piece is about 4 1/4” tall x 3” wide and the spoon is about 5 1/4” long. No chip, cracks or repairs. The silver is unmonogrammed and without dents. The bees wings are a little bent but I am being picky. Some polish residue. The whole thing weighs just over 1 pound before packing.
