I believe I am stuck in a stupid cycle of always letting go of the people I like. Somewhere between the introduction, getting-to-know-you chats, mobile phone texting, Skype video talks, AOL e-mail exchanges and Facebook status-liking it (whatever IT is) just stops dead on it's tracks and die a very quick death. Silence. No more communications. NOTHING! After a few days of silence, I then end up spending hours trying to figure out what happened. I then have this burning need in me to find out the precise thing that caused its death. Where did it start getting wrong? Was it something I said, did, didn't do, posted, e-mailed, expressed, texted? Other matters creep into my brain until it hurts. By then when my energy is already spent; this usually happens two weeks or so after the silence, I am already in the point where I feel a little bit of hatred for the guy because they acted like a dick and just dropped out. But then I end up pining for the guy because I miss the scintillating conversations. Yet I am hurt too and I am too proud to make the other move because I do not know what made them stop talking to me anyway and I might just end up embarrassing myself. What the hell is wrong with me?

Do you ever look around your house and feel like you're surrounded by desolate wall space? I know it can't be just me. I'm not one of those people that needs every square inch of their home to be decorated, but after living in a place for five years, it's time to do something (anything). Little by little I've been making strides to decorate my home. They may be little strides, or micro-strides if you will, but they still count. For one of my more recent initiatives, I finally decorated the big blank wall over my bathtub. Since the rest of my home is decorated in a pretty plain formal but contemporary fashion, I wanted to go with something a little more fun. After all, it's my master bathroom... not like we're getting a lot of foot traffic through there, so who the heck cares what I put up, right? In order to liven things up, I chose to display some of my favorite quotes and cartoons. A little silly, I know, but well... I'm a little silly. Here's how I did it: HOW TO CREATE FRAMED QUOTE ART FOR YOUR WALLS Select which quotes you'd like to use. I knew a couple off the top of my head, but searched the web to find many more. Whether you're looking for a quote from your favorite athlete or your favorite Disney character, it doesn't really matter. They'll all work well. Search the web for a correlating image. Selecting one with a white background works best. Now that you have your quote and your image, it's time to get to work. To create my actual art pieces, I used Photoshop, but you can use whatever program works best for you. In Photoshop, I simply opened my image, and used the background eraser tool to delete the white background. I then changed the color of the background image to one that complimented my room decor. I chose to use similar background colors on all of my art, in order to create cohesion, but you don't have to. Next, I created a text layer, typed my selected quote, and formatted it to my liking. Lastly, I printed my images and framed them. It really is that easy. Since I had a pretty large wall to fill, I made five of these, all in different sizes. I also dropped in some matching bud vases and a clock, just to mix things up.
