There are a lot of details that go into planning a baby shower. Aside from ordering invitations, picking a venue, and deciding on food, you also want to make the shower unique and memorable for the mom-to-be. We’ve gathered a few of our favorite ideas to help get started on planning the best baby shower. Food & Drink You can’t have a shower with hungry guests! For food and drinks, I would keep it incredibly simple. Make the shower in between meals so that you can serve finger foods! There are so many great options from chicken salad sandwiches, fruit, cheese boards, crackers, pigs in a blanket, sliders and more. For desserts, you could do something cute like cake pops that look like rattles, or you can simply go with the mom-to-be’s favorite dessert. You’ll want to be sure you have plenty of water (and ice) for your guests. Other drinks you can include are punch, lemonade, or even set up a “Mom-Mosa” Bar for guests to sip on mimosas during the festivities. Of course, check with the mom-to-be to make sure she’s ok with alcohol at her party! Decorations Decorating a baby shower is a lot of fun! If the theme of the nursery is already decided, you can center the shower around that theme as well. You’re able to use similar colors and decor that she will have in her nursery. You can even create cute chalkboard signs that she might want to add to her nursery room decor. There are definitely little ways to make your shower decorations special for the mom-to-be. Stringing onesies and baby socks on a string off the mantle is a cute way to decorate! You can even have the onesies personalized. It’s the perfect decoration and gift! Also rather than having a guest book, have guests bring their favorite children’s book and write their note inside! If you don’t want to ask your guests to each bring a book, you can purchase one book for everyone to sign. This way the mom-to-be will have their sweet notes each time she reads the book to her baby! Fun & Games While games aren’t always necessary, they can add a nice touch to the baby shower. There are many options out there for games to play, but we have a few classic ones that everyone will enjoy. Message on a Diaper: Have guests write a message (sweet or funny) on a diaper for Mom and Dad to read during their late night diaper change! It’s a fun way for guests to think up funny sayings, and also will be fun for the parent’s to read during their first few weeks of diaper changes. Guess the Belly Size: All you need for this is a pair of scissors and yarn! Have each person cut a piece of yarn of their best guess of the size of the mom-to-be’s waist. It’s always funny to see who guessed way too small and who guessed way to large. The person with the closest size wins a prize! Candy in a Bottle: Place candy (jelly beans, chocolates, etc.) into a baby bottle. Each person will then guess how much candy they think filled the bottle. The person that is closest to the number will keep the candy! Saving Memories When the gifts are open and guests are gone, the mom-to-be will want to savor every moment of her showers and her baby’s arrival! Picture Keeper Connect is the best way to do this. She will be able to backup her photos and videos directly from her smartphone onto the drive, so that she can clear up space for more photos (that she will definitely be taking!). I wanted to do something special for hubs for Father's Day this year. Since we're less than 8 weeks away from the birth of our baby girl, I decided to make survival kits for him. I decided on two, one for the hospital and another for home. The hospital one is filled with all his favorite candy, soda and snacks. The Daddy Survival Kit is more meaningful with specific items and sayings to go with (sayings can be found below). I also bought him the diaper bag that he wanted. He was completely surprised and loved all his gifts. Now the challenge will be not eating all the candy before we head to the hospital! *affiliate links used in this post* PRINTABLE SURVIVAL KIT NOW AVAILABLE CLICK HERE FOR BABY GIRL CLICK HERE FOR BABY BOY

So we've all been there: out & about with the family having a great time and then it happens...the oldest throws a fit (he's still under 5) and spills his entire water bottle on himself and the youngest pees through his diaper...yet again 😒 One of the best things I have ever Pinned on Pinterest was the "OH CRAP BAG". Sadly the website is not longer working but the lady was a genius! Another lady made her own version of the "Oh Crap" bag but although her way is cute too, I liked the first one I saw that no longer works. Both ladies are very smart and here is the newer version: http://www.diaperswappers.com/diaper-blog/the-oh-crap-bag-and-why-its-a-perfect-baby-shower-gift So the idea behind the bag was to have those items for your baby, kids and yourself in your car in the event that you might need them. Items like a few extra diapers, a thing of wipes, change of clothes, etc. As a shower gift, she would place a few diapers of a certain size in a gallon size plastic bag with an outfit in a certain size, seal it and write on the bag the sizes of both diapers and clothes. Simple and easy to see in those moments you need a diaper or clothes and do not have them in your diaper bag or you have used up your back ups. This bag is your back-ups back up 👍 Inside the Oh Sh!t bag I did diaper sizes 2 to 5, along with clothing sizes 0-3 Months, 3 Months, 6-9 Months and 12 Months. Each bag is clearly labeled for the new mommy to find what it is she needs. Label on each bag: Diaper size and Clothing size 0-3 bodysuit with size 2 diapers 0-3 sleeper First bag done! 3 month body suit with size 3 diapers 3 month sleeper Second bag done! 6-9 bodysuit with size 4 diapers 6 month sleeper 12 month bodysuit with size 5 diapers All 4 bags done! Now of course a baby in size 6 month clothing won't be in size 4 diapers but the point of this bag is to help the mom be prepared for the worst. I have a bag like this myself and I have used it so many times! I also included some extras she may need: a pad (hey it's always a good idea to have a back up in the car!), a small First Aid kit, lotion, Clorox wipes, Germ X, lint roller, tissues, chap-stick and two pacifiers. Everything all ready to be packed! I put it in a cheap reusable Walmart bag but you can use any bag you like to keep everything in the car. Tried making the bag look cute by adding a bow in the same shade of blue Now other items for her to add to it are things like her kids favorite snacks (non perishable, duh), extra underwear for her toddler, sunscreen, a sippy cup for her toddler, a blanket, etc. Honestly the list can go on and on depending on the needs and wants for her family. I also made her a crochet baby blanket and put it all together in a plain blue gift bag decorated with baby stickers to make it stand out. Chevron pattern made from Red Heart Super Saver yarn in Soft Navy, Heather Grey and Macaw Hidden behind everything there in the back Mommy to be opening it up. She loved it! I was so nervous she wouldn't like it but it got a great response! It is the best thing for any mom or dad, you can never be too prepared when it comes to kids.
