An exquisite Art Deco ceramic figurine of a gazelle, standing amongst foliage. The colour is a vibrant emerald green with a high gloss glaze. The strong stylised form of the gazelle is typical of the period. This figurine is very special and in excellent condition for nearly 100 years old. The piece is highly prized and very collectible. This rare figurine is by famed French sculpture and ceramicist Charles Lemanceau (1905-1980) who produced these iconic animal figures in the 1930s. The manufacturer is Saint Clément earthenware factory which dates back to 1758 and is still in operation today. ❖Condition: This ceramic figurine from the 1930s is in excellent condition for its age.
