Today it's all about mythology and beautifully stylised animals. We keep coming back to Finnish Artist Jonna Hyttinen's social media page, as every time we do there is something new and exiting in it. You know how in a previous post I was mentioning Inktober? (the month of October dedicated to ink drawings. One every day). Hyttinen's started her own Mythtober: Every day she draws/paints a mythical creature taken from folklore. Below a collection of well known and some a little less so. They all share her amazing style and almost look like they come from the same story. In fact they are separated by geography, coming as they do, from different countries and times; some of them spanning hundreds of years apart. For more of Hyttinen's work here on DesignStack, press this LINK. *** I like to finish and start the week with fantasy based posts. I find them both relaxing and invigorating. I know it's an oxymoron, but post like this on a Sunday make me sit back and imagine calmly and serenely. At the beginning of the week, on a Monday, these same thoughts push me to see real potential in the coming days and an uplift in spirit; just like a flame, that I do all I can to keep it ignited till Sunday. I hope this has a similar effect on you, or that you have something similar in your life to make emotions a ray sunlight that warms you from the inside... Quetzalcoatl from Mesoamerican mythology. The Spear of Horus was the weapon of choice used by the God Horus in 2016's Gods of Egypt. This weapon was originally the weapon used by Set, given to him by his father Ra. Arriving at Horus' coronation, Set had revealed the spear to his brother Osiris. Giving his sibling the weapon, Set took up his Scepter and shield, ordering Osiris to battl
Norse animals always appeared in the myth for a specific purpose. This blog post will explain why Thor God of Thunder and storm had two goats and Freya goddess of love and war had two cats.
Easterlings are trained from a young age in the art of war, and most know nothing but battle. Such is the case with one young Easterling named Rukil, who has done nothing but fight since he was a child. Nobody has ever shown him kindness, and he has had to fight just to stay alive. When he meets someone who reminds him of his true purpose and embarks with him on the adventure of a lifetime, he realizes that perhaps he is meant for more than war. That his destiny is more than dueling in a dusty arena to entertain men who gain joy from the sight of death. Join him in his journey through Middle Earth, where he finds love, betrayal, and hope where he never expected to find it. Set in 3017 T.A., about a year before Frodo sets out from the Shire in the Fellowship of the Ring. The second book in the Middle Earth Stories series.!
