REVIEWS: 🔎 "Lacey and Brennan's "Terminal Descent" was so good. Loved every minute of it. Both Lacey and Brennan are much more relaxed and are now connecting emotionally. Loved it!" ~kitkat 🔎 "I have followed Crossword Mysteries since it's inception. Lacey Chabert (TessHarper, Crossword Puzzle Editor) and Brennan Elliott (Detective Logan O'Connor) brought this mystery to new heights of suspense in Terminal Descent, their 4th installment of the series, taking viewers into the world of high-tech & murder. As Logan and Tess teamed up to solve the mysterious murder of a high-tech CEO, it put a new light on their personal lives when they discover personal info about each other. To sum it up, Terminal Descent was full of suspense, even scary, but it also had the element of humor and a hint of romance on the horizon between Logan & Tess. I give 5 stars to Terminal Descent; its Writer, Director, Producer, Exec. Producers and Cast." ~Ann 🔎 "Terminal Descent was another excellent instalment in the Ctossword Mystreies series, perhaps even the best to date. Lacey and Brennan suit each other well and as usual there are numerous touches of humour. The mystery was intriguing and at long last there seemed to be some progress in their personal relationship as they learned more of each others' pasts. However it does seem that it's obligatory for the hero in all the current mystery series now to have had a previous unhappy marriage - why? *SPOILER* Just to throw a spanner in the works - it was really great to see Matthew Dowden and I was thinking how he would make a great match for Tess - of course that can't happen. I'd love to see Matthew get a Hallmark leading role." ~Anonymous 🔎🔎🔎🔎🔎 MOVIE REVIEW Movie: “Chronicle Mysteries: Helped to Death” Network: Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Original Air Date: February 21, 2021 CAST: Alison Sweeney ... Alex McPherson Benjamin Ayres ... Drew Godfrey Jayce Barreiro ... Kurt Hardy Ian Collins ... Zack Warren Richard Keats ... Jack Carpenter Rebecca Staab ... Eileen Bruce Alison Wandzura ... Marianne Carpenter Lochlyn Munro ... PLOT: True crime podcaster Alex McPherson (Alison Sweeney) and her colleague Drew Godfrey (Benjamin Ayers) investigate a self help retreat and the controversial life coach who oversees it. REVIEW: 🔎 " “Chronicle Mysteries: Helped to Death” is a family friendly mystery. Like any murder mystery, there is a little violence – a man is seen dead on the ground from afar – after falling off a cliff. In this movie Alex McPherson (Alison Sweeney) and Drew Godfrey (Benjamin Ayres) are attending a controversial self-help retreat. Alex is hopeful she’ll be able to do her Podcast and unravel a mystery from a previous retreat. There are strict rules about diet and no technology – so they can cleanse their body and mind. The no tech policy, however, makes it difficult to communicate with the outside world, but not impossible. Many of the people who attend these events act a bit odd and the story, for me, lacked a strong secondary B story, as the movie focused mostly at the camp. There are, however, some interesting characters at the retreat and Alex and Drew get extra help from Zack, an eager new worker at the newspaper. Overall, a good mystery in the Chronicle Mysteries series – it was sweet to see a deeper connection between Alex and Drew." ~Net 🔎🔎🔎🔎🔎 Please note: Both mystery movies above are family friendly. Movie Review: In Wedding Planner Mystery, Carnegie Kincaid may help brides and grooms tie the knot, but can she unravel herself out of murder? As a wedding planner, Carnegie is used to fixing last minute pre-nuptial mishaps… so when she becomes a “person of interest” in a murder investigation... Carnegie must play detective and fix it herself. However, Michelle sadly is killed in an automobile accident during Diane’s wedding reception. Suspecting the car, owned by Nicky, was tampered with, the police deem it to be murder, and Carnegie, for various reasons, becomes their main suspect. From there, Carnegie isn’t sure who she can trust. The Parry family, Nicky’s father Douglas and stepmother Clara, reassure her that they want her to continue to plan their daughter Nicky’s wedding, but can Carnegie manage it all, as she keeps her business barely afloat with her partner Eddie, investigates this mystery with her best friend Lily, dates the Parry’s lawyer Holt Walker, denies interview access to an annoying, but increasingly intriguing Press Writer Aaron Gold, and all-the-while dodging bullets, break-ins, and failed brakes, herself? Plus, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries announces their August movie premieres with Lacey Chabert, Emmanuelle Vaugier, Kavan Smith, and more! See details below... Hallmark Channel Fall Into Love 2022 Movies: Love in the Limelight Premieres: Saturday, August 6, 2022 8/7c Starring: Alexa PenaVega, Carlos PenaVega and Ivonne Coll Storyline: After years of being pen pals with Nick (Carlos PenaVega), Summer’s (Alexa PenaVega) teen crush and former lead singer of the popular boy band The Mendez Boyz, the two finally meet in person when he comes to town for a comeback concert. Their friendship has set the stage for romance and Summer’s Abuelita (Coll) – a hip grandma with a growing TikTok following – encourages her to follow her heart. Movie Reviews: ♪🎤 "Love in the Limelight was so amazing! After everything that has happened this year, I didn't think I'd ever really love a new Hallmark movie again. Until now. :) Though, I do feel it's important to point out that, there's a 2 or 3 second brief glimpse of that horrendous rainbow flag early on in the movie. Usually the moment I see something like that, I turn the whole thing off in disgust, but this one time, I decided to just keep on watching, and I'm glad I did." -Maria ♪🎤 "I just finished watching Love in the Limelight, and I loved it! I think the Pana Vegas have such great chemistry. While I didn't notice the rainbow flag someone else pointed out, there was a "did I just hear that right?" moment at the beginning. When Summer and Nick first meet in person, they are talking about their bad luck in relationships and Summer says her high school prom date "now lives in California with his husband." However, it felt more like a joke from 20 years ago, when that's all gay men were in movies - a joke. Everything else was family friendly. I actually almost cried twice. Once when Summer's dad shares about her being bullied as a child to Nick to explain why she is so private. Then I cried again when Alexa Pana Vega had a gut wrenching scene towards the end. Her tears were so real - it was a moving performance. Overall, it was fun and cute while also giving touching moments of family, trust, and healing." ~melnewlife ♪🎤 "I enjoyed Love in the Limelight and Romance n Style. Both were family friendly except Alexa's character at the beginning of the movie mentions one of her dates who went on to date a guy. "They" just have to get a mention of same-sex couples in there. Other than that both movies were family friendly I'm happy to say. Still, Love in the Limelight was the Pena-Vegas' best movie yet. Romance in Style dealt with body shaming and insecurities well. While she takes on extra work as a freelance seamstress for a high-profile fashion magazine, she meets dashingly handsome Derek who is stepping in to take the reins of the magazine from his father. Ella and the "Prince of Publishing" quickly form an alliance to shake things up at The Look. Together, they help the well-established brand expand their definition of fashion and for the first time, make women of all sizes feel welcome. And of course, the sparks fly between them. This is a rom-com, after all. Derek makes throughout the story with the help of Ella. "When he first meets Ella, what he sees in her is not just her outward positivity but also her determination and what is missing in the fashion industry which is representation of what is the 'every woman.' And we learn in the film that the most common size for an American woman is size 16 and yet we only see size 0, 2, and 4 in magazines so she's fighting for this representation to make its way into the fashion world and into this particular fashion magazine." He goes on to explain how Derek feels that Ella's plan is not only the morally correct way to go, but that there is also good business sense in the bold choice to include plus size women in the magazine. But he clearly learns more about life itself in the way Ella steps outside the box. "I think Derek inspired by that to kind of do the same. To step out from his father's shadow and do something that is different and support something that isn't just your typical business moves. So a lot of his choices in the movie are influenced actually through hers." ~Anonymous 👗"Romance in Style is an inspiring movie. The lead had spunk! It brought me joy to see how she overcame and stood her ground to become successful. Benjamin played his part magnificently! This movie was done in good taste. Her former doubles partner Ashley (Jennifer Khoe) asks her to coach her and her new doubles partner Will (Richard Harmon), a player whose reputation and career are in need of repair thanks to his hotheaded antics on the court. Taylor reluctantly agrees and though she and Will clash at first, she’s surprised to discover a different side to him. Even more surprising is when Taylor finds herself entering the doubles tournament with Will after Ashley is sidelined by an injury. As Taylor and Will spend more time together while they get ready to compete, the pair learns they just may be a perfect match in more ways than one.” The movie had potential and that’s hard for me to say with how much I disliked it. It’s been awhile since I have had to commend Hallmark for trying, but wonder if they realized that they were way out of their league for this one. It’s all about the way this movie was shot. The settings, the low budget (and trust, you can tell it was low budget), and the horrendous wardrobe, are what added up for it to be a bad movie. Now, yes, I had feelings about the movie before I even watched it. Richard Harmon is a good actor, but him on the Hallmark Channel doesn’t fit. He’s not the “good guy” in a role and even though this role was billed as the “bad boy” of tennis, there was nothing bad about his character. Okay, so he yelled at the umpire (or whatever they call it in tennis) and told him that he wouldn’t be on his Christmas card list, it made me laugh more than anything. Will wasn’t a bad guy. Will was a misunderstood guy with some serious family issues. He wasn’t speaking with his parents and had come to terms with it. His “anger” was part of his persona. He wasn’t willing to let people close and felt as though he had to be angry because that’s what people expected of him. Taylor is a woman lost in grief, but doesn’t realize it. She’s fully of excuses as to why she can’t follow her dreams, but who is going to debate with her that he father needs her. No one. Well, except Will, who doesn’t seem to mind calling anyone out for anything. Though the two actors have no chemistry on the screen, but they don’t deliver the worst performances. Harmon as Will was unbelievable, but maybe that’s because it’s really the first time that he’s taken on a role like this. Davida Williams does a great job as Taylor, and honestly she’s the highlight of the movie. But Will and Taylor together feels against Taylor’s character. Especially when she’s just going back into professional tennis and they are just starting out as partners. She doesn’t seem like the person that would fall for a bunch of lines that a charming man has to deliver. The costuming felt as though I was watching my grandparents play tennis and honestly, took me away from the characters because I couldn’t get over how frumpy and old they looked, when they were meant to be young people on the tour. The tennis matches – let us just say that it felt like they decorated a high school gym and put people in the stands. The setting and the shots took me completely out of the movie and I felt like I couldn’t see anything that was happening, because I wondered how this passed the producers. You can say that everything counts when making a movie, because it does. And unfortunately the settings, the shots, and the costuming took me so far out of Game, Set, Love that the only thing I could enjoy was it ending." ~Anonymous 🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁 Hallmark Movies & Mysteries August Movie Premieres: Big Sky River Starring: Emmanuelle Vaugier and Kavan Smith Premieres: Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022 9/8c Storyline: Based on the book by Linda Lael Miller. I decided to ignore the rumor I'd heard that there "might" be a vague reference to a gay character somewhere in this movie. I figured it was a "Lacey" movie so therefore it had to be mostly squeaky clean and family friendly and maybe, at most, there might be two guys standing together in the background somewhere. Well, oops!, I was wrong. So, Surfer Boy (Lacey's love interest) has a brother who is a chef and is a main part of the movie as he and Lacey take part in a cooking competition. He and Lacey are in the kitchen cooking and having fun and talking about stuff and they talk about how her aunt & uncle were such incredible role models for couples and marriage. She says something like "Who of us could live up to such a perfect relationship?". He says something like, "I used to think the same thing but then on a flight to Hawaii I met Sebastian (the airline pilot), and he showed me that true love is still alive and we all deserve it." She says, "Aww, I can't wait to meet him." At that point I decided to quit. But then I fast-forwarded through most of the rest of the movie to a scene at a party where Sebastian made his first appearance, all cozy with his arm around the chef guy's waist. Lacey says to the two of them, "You know your husband's amazing, don't you?" And he says, "Oh, yes, I do. That's why I put a ring on it!" And there you have it. A movie that could have been fun and relaxing and family-friendly with all the beautiful scenery and, yet, Hallmark ruined another one. I'm also quite disappointed with Lacey; she's a big enough star that she could have said "no" to being an active part of that dialogue and character arc, or she could have turned down the movie. It's not like Hallmark snuck in one itty-bitty scene after the filming was completed; it was an integral part of the script that Lacey took part in. And the kicker is, the "husband" character didn't even need to be a part of the movie, the story would've been great without any mention of him. Guess I probably should have taped the Paul Campbell movie instead!! Who'd have known Lacey's movie would be worse than Paul's??!!?!" ~~Jane 🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁 Unthinkably Good Things Starring: Karen Pittman, Erica Ash, Joyful Drake, Jermaine Love and Lance Gross Premieres: Sunday, August 28, 2022 9/8c Storyline: At a crossroads in her career and love life, Allison (Pittman) is in need of the love and support of her two friends Melina (Drake) and Reesa (Ash). I'm excited to see Alexa and Carlos PenaVega in a new movie together. I wish it was another Picture Perfect Mysteries, but I'll take what I can get. According to ET, their movie is the real-life story of Willie Aames (Harvest Moon, Charles in Charge, Bibleman) and his wife, Winnie Hung. I think this sounds very interesting. More details and images to come. Stay tuned! Blessings, Net

When Katie (Britt McKillip, Trick ‘r Treat), a young waitress, finds herself way in over her head with the wrong people, she shows up seeking his help. Jeff urges her to go directly to the police but she’s too scared to follow through. When Katie sadly turns up dead – murdered by poison – Jeff wonders if he could have helped her and the crime becomes personal for him. Teamed up with Zee (Lind), he must unravel the dangerous plot Katie had tried to warn him about to catch her killer. The shocking case leaves Jeff and Zee little time to discuss the kiss they had shared in Boston and what it means for their relationship. Meanwhile, the mystery back in Boston deepens when Jeff and Andy (Nelson Wong, “Riverdale”) seem close to catching the person who shot Jeff, until an FBI agent shows up and takes over, shutting them out. Reviews: 🔎 "Wanted to let all you mystery fans out their know that the new Martha’s Vineyard mystery is family-friendly. Yay!" ~Anonymous 🔎 "I watched the new Martha’s Vineyard mystery and really enjoyed it. Loved the duel mystery that was going on - with a new murder on the island, plus, new issues arose with Jeff's own unsolved shooting case. There was also a little tension between Jeff and Zee, but I still enjoyed their back and forth chemistry. Also loved that it was a family friendly sort of mystery." ~Net 🔎 "Loved the new mystery with Jesse Metcalfe! I will give Jesse a standing ovation for his acting abilities." ~kitkat 🔎🔎🔎🔎🔎 Movie: Morning Show Mysteries: Murder Ever After Premiere Date: Sunday, May 23, 2021 Starring: Holly Robinson Peete and Colin Lawrence Storyline via Hallmark: Following a shocking find in an old friend’s basement, TV host Billie Blessings (Robinson Peete) works with new-to-town detective Tyrell Hunter (Lawrence) to unearth a dark secret that threatens to unravel the lives of the most powerful people in her city. Review: 🔎 "The new Morning Show Mystery "Murder Ever After" is mostly family-friendly. The mystery's backstory includes cheating characters (nothing shown at all), and there was a brief moment of slightly off-color dialogue between detectives, for those looking for content warnings. I like the new detective and thought the huge storyline changes in the series were handled well, although I would love to see Ian, his daughter, Maurice, and Feathers return sometime! At least Aunt Cassandra is still there, along with the colorful crew at the morning show. :-) This one had me guessing and I'm thrilled Hallmark is keeping the mysteries coming!" ~Alicia 🔎🔎🔎🔎🔎 Please note: Typically, the mystery movies (due to some violence) are best suited for ages 12 and up. If you'd like to add a review, on whether a film is family-friendly, please share in comments below. You'll probably notice Rick Fox is no longer on "Morning Show Mysteries." There is a new detective in town, Tyrell Hunter, played by actor Colin Lawrence ("Christmas in Evergreen"). Happy sleuthing! Net *images via: Hallmark Crown Media Family Networks

UPtv will be airing NEW romantic comedy premieres in March, all with a wedding theme. Look for these movie titles: A Bridesmaid in Love, A Honeymoon to Remember and The Wedding Fix. See details on the new March movie premieres below... 💮💮💮💮💮💮💮💮💮💮 A Bridesmaid in Love Original Air Date: March 6, 2022 Starring: Tori Anderson and Sean Poague Story-line via UPtv: Recently single professional bridesmaid and writer Cate James is excited to help her best friend Maxine with her wedding day and is happily surprised to bump into Maxine’s handsome brother Matt, who’s in town for his sister’s wedding. Just as the perfect pair get close, old flames come back into the picture confusing Cate even more – will Cate follow her heart? Movie Review: 💮 "A Bridesmaid in Love is very sweet!" -Maria 💮 "A Bridesmaid in Love was such a good movie! I love the stories when friends from high school never admit they like the other, but then realize it years later. It was sweet to see Cate and Matt have this attraction, but neither knew how to take the next step. It did give me a little vibe of 27 Dresses, but this was way more wholesome and family-friendly. This movie is a keeper for me! ~Net 💮 "A Bridesmaid In Love This is a case of a movie being so much better the second time around. I thoroughly enjoyed Tori Anderson in You May Kiss The Bridesmaid and in some ways this was quite a similar plot on a "wedding planner" theme, so maybe originally we just watched it too soon after the first movie. On seeing it again at the weekend I have to admit I thought it was pretty good. Catey who had just broken up with her boyfriend got roped in with Matt - a childhood friend she'd had a crush on, to help organise his sister's wedding. There were all the usual plot devices including Cate's boyfriend repenting the break-up and making a play to win her back with a proposal which Matt witnesses but misses the ending and thinks he's lost his second chance. I thought Tori Anderson and Sean Pogue went well together and it was nice to see the pair gradually realise that the attrraction had been there all along from their childhood days. We'll watch this again at some stage." - Florence's rating 7. 💮💮💮💮💮💮💮💮💮💮 A Honeymoon to Remember Original Air Date: March 13, 2022 Starring: Rebecca Dalton, Edward Ruttle, Brendan Taylor, Ryan Cowier Story-line via UPtv: When a devastated Ava’s fiancé leaves her at the altar, she’s determined to enjoy her honeymoon without him. Time away in a beautiful setting helps her figure out what she truly wants from a partner, but when her fiancé shows up unannounced, she’s more confused than ever… Can Ava forgive the man who broke her heart? Movie Review: 💮 "Finally got around to A Honeymoon to Remember, it's pretty good!" -Maria 💮 "A Honeymoon to Remember is family-friendly, an okay watch. The lead girl and bride-to-be, Ava, is a bit stuck on herself, a complete control freak. She has her whole life practically mapped out, which makes the groom-to-be freak out and call off the wedding. Overall, family-friendly, but some people do wear swim apparel around the pool. ~Net 💮 "A Honeymoon To Remember With reviews you get those who have a down on the lead actors and and those who support them, friends etc. These usually cancel out so I was intrigued on seeing the reviews for this movie on IMDb when the vast majority totally panned it. Well, I make my own mind up but in this case I can report this movie isn't so bad it's good, it's quite simply awful. Ava (Rebecca Dalton) gets dumped by her fiance at the altar and decides to go on the honeymoon booking with her sister It turns out she is a total control freak, everything planned to the last minute, the future laid out in detail including what children she will have and their names (yes really!) She's childish, self-obsessed and manipulative although I would concede that she is not actually malicious nor abusive. Seriously, she needs professional help. While on this "honeymoon" she meets one of the resort workers but then her ex-fiancé, Brett (Edward Ruttle) has a change of heart and comes racing after her to try and put things right - the mind boggles. So we have the rivalry between the two suitors, hard to understand because both should be running as hard as they could in the opposite direction. Ava never changes her character at all, she makes Brett grovel and apologise, never a hint that there is any blame attached to her at all and no whiff of an apology. At the start the sister did roll her eyes but then she totally backed Ava. I don't understand how the producers ever thought there was merit to this movie - the leads were obviously playing a part for I have seen Rebecca Dalton and Edward Ruttle in other roles and they're fine actors. This was a train-wreck but there was one little ray of sunshine. The widowed sister Bonnie met up with a widower John - he was just an overweight, ordinary guy but their low-key, normal romance did bring a little relief into the overall proceedings. I'm actually rating it a 3 - a couple of points for Bonnie and John. A Honeymoon To Remember? - this is one movie you will totally want to forget" - Florence 💮💮💮💮💮💮💮💮💮💮 The Wedding Fix Original Air Date: March 20, 2022 Starring: Andrea Brooks, Beverley Elliott, Patch May Story-line via UPtv: Reeling from a break-up, professional over-planner Gwen pitches in to help put the finishing touches on her best friend’s wedding. But when she’s teamed up with best man Josh, a free-spirited nature guide, she finds that pulling together this wedding might not be as easy as she thought. Movie Review: 🌞 "The Wedding Fix is lighthearted, family friendly and refreshing, like sunshine on a cloudy day! I enjoyed the chemistry between the leads, Gwen (Andrea Brooks, “When Calls the Heart”) and Josh (Patch May, “Gingerbread Miracle”). As the maid of honor, Gwen (an over-planner), is tasked to work with Josh, the best man (surprise, he’s a free spirit!), to save her best friend’s wedding. Of course, opposites attract! The mix of their opposite personalities plays well on screen; there seems to be an instant spark between the two, even when she mistakes him in the beginning for someone else. Besides all the wedding planning, there’s star-gazing, fishing, and maybe, even some rock climbing, if Josh can talk Gwen into giving it a try! Overall, it’s a delightful, feel good movie. The wedding issue at the end was a bit anticlimactic, but thankfully, Gwen was there to fix it!!! My suggestion… fix yourself a comfy spot for The Wedding Fix, relax and enjoy this sweet UPtv romantic comedy!" ~Net 🌞 "Net, your review on The Wedding Fix was spot on. I really enjoyed this movie. Andrea Brooks is the perfect choice to play the lead. Andrea seems to be more relaxed, plus the flow was so natural. An enjoyable couple of hours for me!" ~kitkat 🌞 "The Wedding Fix was very lovely! 100% recommend." -Maria 💮💮💮💮💮💮💮💮💮💮 UPtv is airing an encore movie presentation of the movie, Overcomer, on this Sunday night... Overcomer Original Air Date on UPtv: October 15, 2021 Special Encore Air Date on UPtv: March 27, 2022 Starring: Alex Kendrick, Priscilla C. Shirer, Cameron Arnett, Shari Rigby Story-line via UPtv: A high-school basketball coach volunteers to coach a troubled teen in long-distance running. Movie Reviews: 🌞 "Even though I don’t get UP Network, I am happy to see another Kendrick Christian movie airing on TV. The storyline, and more importantly, the message of “Overcomer” are absolutely wonderful." ~Anonymous 🌞 "Overcomer was in theaters. It’s a really good movie. Have Kleenex handy. Family friendly." ~Mary 🌞 "I have a copy of the DVD "Overcomer"This is a very uplifting sports story about Faith. How the troubled teen overcomes adversity. Family Friendly." ~Jersey Joe 🌞 "Overcomer is a FANTASTIC movie! I would highly recommend it to everyone. (Having said that, it is a Christian movie so that might bother some people...but probably not many that come to your website.)" ~Karen 🌞 "Another vote for Overcomer!" ~Meara 🌞 "I too loved the movie Overcomer but would just add that it does have some weightier themes with the father (drug use and abandoning his child). Still an excellent movie but I would not say "family friendly" for younger audiences." ~Anonymous 🌞 "I totally concur regarding the weightier themes and what was noted about the “family friendly” status. I wrote one of the comments but forgot to mention that important item so thank you." ~Anonymous 🌞 "I loved Overcomer. Great movie how God turned a man's life completely around. Went and saw the new version of Courageous. It was everything I hoped the first one would be. Highly recommend it." ~Anonymous 🌞 "Wow! I love this movie! Overcomer is fantastic! I didn't think a movie about cross country would appeal to me, but it was way more than that. Overcomer is a wonderful instrument in telling each of us who we are - we are a child of God, loved, and chosen! There were wonderful heartfelt moments in the movie that moved me to tears and great comedy, too! I love the coach's tight-knit family. Overcomer is a winner for me, a wonderful, inspirational film!" ~Net 💮💮💮💮💮💮💮💮💮💮 My Take on the New Movies... As I was looking through all the intriguing new movies coming to UPtv in March above, each one was giving me vibes from previous films I've seen. See if you get the same feeling... First, "A Bridesmaid in Love," starring Tori Anderson (who many of us love in Hallmark's "Return to Christmas Creek"), is giving me the feel of Katherine Heigl in "27 Dresses," especially with all the pictures in colorful bridesmaid dresses above. (Please note: "27 Dresses" is PG-13 due to language and adult dialogue/situations.) The plot details UP gives us for "A Bridesmaid in Love" says that Tori's character is a professional bridesmaid, who is helping to plan her best friend's wedding; in "27 Dresses" Katherine's character is also a professional bridesmaid/maid of honor, who is helping to plan her sister's big day. Hopefully, "Bridesmaid in Love" will be a fun, family-friendly version! The second movie, "A Honeymoon to Remember," makes me think of two previous movies I've seen, where a jilted bride enjoys her honeymoon without the groom. It reminded me first of an old Van Johnson and Esther Williams classic movie, "Thrill of a Romance," that I've watched on TCM. In this movie, the bride (Esther Williams) is abandoned before her honeymoon and she meets the handsome, Van Johnson. Another movie that has a similar storyline is the Lifetime movie, "Honeymoon with Mom," starring Virginia Williams and Shelley Long. It is a rather cute film, and mostly family-friendly, but probably best for ages 13+ ...due to some minor adult dialogue/situations. Virginia's character is left at the altar and she reluctantly decides to enjoy her expensive beach honeymoon with her mom (Shelley Long), who brings lots of delightful comedy to the movie. Hopefully, this UPtv movie, "A Honeymoon to Remember," will be just as cute! In the third movie, "The Wedding Fix," starring Andrea Brooks ("When Calls the Heart"), professional over-planner Gwen is tasked with her best friend’s wedding, along with the free-spirited best man, Josh. This made me think instantly of 3 Hallmark movies where the more serious, ultra-organized leading woman is paired with a laid-back leading man to help plan a wedding: "Perfect Match" (Danica McKellar and Paul Greene), "My Favorite Wedding" (Maggie Lawson and again, Paul Greene), and "Destination Wedding" (Alexa PenaVega and Jeremy Guilbaut). Interestingly enough, Andrea Brooks portrays the role of the bride in "Destination Wedding." Does this story or any of the others, make you think of other movies? Please note: If you'd like to post a review on whether a film is family-friendly, please share in comments. Which one of these new movies looks interesting to you? Be sure to share your pick (or picks) in comments below... Happy movie watching! Net
