Green was originally a hypocritical Anglican priest suspected of murdering Boddy Black. In the United States, he was Mr. Green, who had taken money-oriented roles from mobster to businessman. Parker Brothers insisted on the name change, believing that the American public would object to a priest as a murder s

Monster rugs, rugs with teeth, and bearskin rugs made of anything but bearskin, seem to be all the rage these days. So, I thought I'd share some with you. First, a design and blog favorite, Joshua Longo's Monster Skin Rug, about which I was one of the first to write in a previous blog post: above: made of Felted Cashmere, Wool, Polymer Clay, Stuffing Visit Longoland, Joshua's store to see other cute monsters and furniture. Monster Workshop's Monster Rug: above: Monster's Workshop rug. They also makes adorable plush monsters for purchase. Adopt them here. Other colors are available upon request. The original model has been executed by hand in clay. From this, a silicone mold has been made for the subsequent rugs. The rugs are all numbered and have a signature cast in the back: buy it here. The Blanket Statement by Lise Lefebvre: The artists' own description: Blanket statement is a contemporary bearskin rug handmade from reclaimed traditional Dutch blankets. These one of a kind rugs showcase the intricate patterns and thick sturdy construction while hinting at another traditional décor style. I don't know if the artwork below was inspired by some of the above rugs or not, but they would be a fun compliment. Halloween is right around the corner, and this year it’s going to be… well, different. Many of the things I used to love about the season — parties, haunted hayrides, trick-or-treating — have been put on hold thanks to COVID-19. But don’t worry; I believe we can still have a spooky AND SAFE Halloween, and this photo shoot proves it! When I designed this shoot, I wanted to highlight the fun and whimsy of Halloween — you know, all that “Hocus Pocus” that makes this holiday so special! We started with a cute and colorful invite from Yasmin Campos, and then created an event space both spooky and chic! The key to our cute Halloween vibe was playing with colors and textures. I used various shades of purple and orange to brighten up the standard spooky black, while velvet linens from Table Occasions, gorgeous florals from Laura Carrillo Designs, and a little glitter (ok, A LOT of glitter) added that extra something special. Additionally, I opted for decor that kept the spirit of the season without being too scary. A few on-theme balloons like this witch’s hat and this iridescent ghost put everyone in the Halloween mood, while our glittery bats added a fun 3D effect to the walls (PERFECT for your party IG pic). Finally, this adorable “Hey Boo” banner completed our sassy/spooky party vibe! Of course, you can’t have a Halloween party without heaps of treats — and some of our favorite vendors were ready to give us the sugar rush of a lifetime! Cloud Nine came through with an amazing cotton candy cart. Tiers and Flours served up a delicious (and SO cute) cauldron cake, and Fancy and Royal Treats finished off the party with tasty skeleton cookies. These girls were ready to chow down (with their adorable plates and cups from our Hocus Pocus collection) — and I can promise you they loved every last bite! Lastly, what good is a party without an equally spooktacular invitation?! Our talented friend Yasmin from Coffee Creative Co designed the perfect invitations to match the theme! Although Halloween (like most of 2020) will be very different this year, you and your little monsters can still have the time of your lives. With a little creativity, a few handfuls of glitter, and the right supplies from MeParty, you can have a Halloween bash that's so much fun, it’ll feel like magic!
