This is a HUGE lot of dinnerware that is actually a blend of dishes from two 1980's Newcor (made in Thailand) lines that are so similar that I am pretty sure the only difference was the dinner plates. These dinner plates are clearly marked "Our Country" and most of the other pieces are marked Heirloom, if the line is named. A quick search of a popular replacement site confirms that the salad plates, cereal bowls, and cup & saucer sets are all the same across the 2 lines. 1) Cups & saucers... there are TWO sizes of cups here. All of the saucers are 6.25" across the top. The bigger of the two sizes is 3.75" tall & 3 5/8" across the top. The smaller is 3 3/8" tall & 3 3/8" across the top. All look very good and are free of chips, cracks or other damage. They are broken up in the following sets: LAST SET ~Set of 4 smaller cups & saucers 2) (not pictured) I have 2 short, squatty salt shakers that match. Both are salt. Very clean, no chips, but they need new stoppers. I would be happy to sell them together, but they are both marked "S". SOLD OUT) Then I have just 4 cereal bowls left. They are just under 7" across the top and are about 2.25" tall. SOLD OUT) Next I have the salad plates. They are 7.5" across the top. There is one set of 4 left. All look very good and are free of chips, cracks or other damage. SOLD OUT) This last pair has one with just one with a chip to the bottom rim which is virtually invisible from the top. They are 10.75" across the top. These are the pieces marked Our Country, which is a bit busier pattern, including church steeples and more animals. SOLD OUT) I have a set of four enamel covered metal burner covers, which is 3 smaller (7 7/8") and one larger (9 7/8") meant to cover the burners on your stove top. These are VERY hard to find, in fact I've not seen another set like them. These tended to rust away and get throw out. There is minor enamel loss to the bottoms only. They are overall very clean with a very light natural patina.
Here, Jessica uses her chosen feather motif to frame little faces. The bonnet is knitted flat, and only joined to work the crown shaping. I-cord laces keep the bonnet snug on baby's head. Go to Heirloom Seeds collection

Anna and I will be traveling to Tulsa, OK this week! We will be meeting Sylvia from "Sylvia's Delicate Stitches" and a group of ladies for two days of classes! Friday, will be the "Bias Bound Baby Daygown" class, which is an adaption of pattern #128. The ladies will construct the gown, sew on the bias binding and work on the embroidery in class. The second day, will be the "Beginning Heirloom Sewing" class. The ladies will either choose from this variation of pattern #126 for a boy's bubble or #127 if they had rather make a dress. They will learn hints for making tiny tucks and lace shaping. Gathering lace to entredeux, stitching entredeux to fabric, and several other heirloom techniques. They will also learn several embroidery stitches to add a touch of elegance to their outfits. This is the longest road trip that Anna and I have taken by ourselves and we are both pretty excited about the 9 hour drive!!! But, we can't think of anything that could come up that we can't handle and we are really excited about the adventure and spending several days together! I will be sure to take class pictures and let you know how the road trip goes. Michie'

Don't you love to weave together all the parts of a finely created design? That describes me. I love to weave all the elements of the finished project in my head. First, I plan the overall theme. Today's theme is Updated Handcrafted Ethnic. Next, I think about just the right color and pattern to suit the theme and the wearer of the finished project. So the process begins... first the handcrafted. I made this lace and fabric insert for the blouse. Plotting the layout of the lace insert. Adding a knit lining behind the bodice. The completed bodice front. Next the color... I wanted this outfit to feature autumn colors- brown, gold, teal, forest green, pink (that bright pink that sugar maple leaves turn in the fall), and a creamy white to blend all the colors together. Corduroy PATTERN.... Pattern is so important to ethnic designs. I love the freedom that ethnic designs have to mix patterns. What fun it was to add these accessories to the mix. A bit of lace and a sparkly button pin that I made to go on the vest A different kind of button latch The secret ingredient...HIDDEN SPARKLE! Adding a band of color to the sparkle underskirtGold embroidery thread was used with a double ladder stitch to attach the color band to the bottom of the underskirt. After sewing the excess fabric was cut off next to the stitching to create a smooth finish. I sewed an underskirt that can be added to the outfit out of shiny gold flecked fabric and edged the circle skirt with a band of teal. And now a look at my creation that I created in my head... and worn by my favorite rock star! "What should I sing?" The individual pieces: My first time ever sewing on a sweater knit. I hope you enjoyed viewing my personal style... Deborah
