Here’s my card for this week’s sketch challenge. I used the Simply Zinnia Dies to cut those pretty flowers and the Zinnia 3D Embossing Folder for the background layer.

#stampinup #saleabration2016 One of my favorite stamp sets in the Sale-a-Bration brochure is "Hello." It's got a big, bold HELLO stamp and can be used for a birthday card or an any occasion card. It's just so stinkin' cute. And it's only available during the first 6 weeks of Sale-a-Bration: until February 15 and then it will be gone forever!! So, if you want to get your hot, little hands on this stamp set, contact me to either place a qualifying order (every $50 spent will yield one FREE SAB item!) or to schedule a Sale-a-Bration event! I thought this set would be perfect to use for this week's Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge. I chose my color scheme based on the fabulous It's My Party 12"x12" Designer Series Paper stack. As you can see, this DSP stack isn't only for birthdays! I started with a panel that had Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry dots and built my card from there. I cut a 1" strip of the DSP with Melon Mambo stars and a 1/2" strip of the DSP with Crushed Curry pluses. I adhered these pieces onto a Crushed Curry mat and then onto a Melon Mambo card base. Next, I stamped "hello" in Melon Mambo and "my friend" in Crushed Curry onto a Whisper White piece and cut it out with one of the circles from the Circles Framelits Collection. I cut two stars from the Stars Framelits collection--one from Melon Mambo card stock and one from the Crushed Curry DSP. I finished the card by adding a few Basic Rhinestones. This card was so quick and easy to pull together. And it's so pretty, too! Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday! It's time for a new Color Throwdown Challenge, and this week, Vickie has challenged us to use the combination of blue, orange and gray! LOVE!! For my card, I began with a panel of Smooth White Card Stock cut using the Bold Stripes Cover Up Die-namics. I matted the panel using a panel of Smooth White Card Stock cut using the A2 Rectangle STAX 1 Die-namics. I used the Bold Stripes Cover Up Die-namics again from After Midnight Prestige Card Stock and then inset the panels using the stripes. The circle was cut from Cement Gray Prestige Card Stock using the Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics. I used the Sweet Hello Die-namics for the die-cut panel, and I cut the background from Coral Crush Prestige Card Stock and "hello" from Smooth White Card Stock and then layered them together. The sentiment panel was cut using the Skinny Strips Die-namics, and I stamped "From Me To You" from Well, Hello using Extreme Black Hybrid Ink. I finished off the card with a trio of enamel dots. Hello my loves!! The time has finally come for you to get your inky hands on the brand spankin' new June Release products!! But before you go shopping I hope you'll stick around and check out all of the fun projects for today's post! My project features the new Tropical Flowers Stamp Set and coordinating dies, and the Well, Hello Stamp Set and the Sweet Hello Die-Namics! I just love the multi-step flowers that MFT carries, especially because they're so easy to stamp with the Smart Align system that helps you align the different steps! It makes stamping and die-cutting these images a breeze! I trimmed a 4" x 5-1/4" Smooth White panel and used a circle die from the Circle STAX Set 1 Die-Namics to cut an aperture. I stamped some of the flowers and leaves from the Tropical Flowers Stamp Set, and used the coordinating Tropical Flowers Die-Namics to cut them out. I die cut the Sweet Hello dies from Black Licorice CS and Vellum, and adhered them together with liquid adhesive. I trimmed a 4-1/4" x 11" card base from Limelight CS, scored it at 5-1/2", folded it in half and perfected the crease with my bone folder. I positioned the white panel onto the card base so that I could stamp the sentiment from the Well, Hello Stamp Set using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink. I adhered the white panel to the card base with foam squares, and then arranged and adhered the flowers, leaves and assembled word die cut to the front panel with more foam squares. I finished it up with my fave Sparkling Clear Sequins for a little bit of bling!! Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other fabulous projects that my teammates and friends have created for your inspiration! Hello Bee Embossed Tulip Greeting Card. This is a one of a kind card! I made this card from heavy 110lb. card stock. I embossed the front in a tulip pattern. This smiling bright yellow bee has the word "hello" trailing behind him as he hovers in the air above the tulips. This card is perfect to let someone know you are thinking of them. The inside is blank for your message. My white envelope has the same tulips embossed on the flap. It comes with a clear cellophane sleeve for protection card measures 4.25" x 5.5" made in a smoke free home

Here are 2 more cards using the sketch that I found on Norine's blog last year. I'm looking towards spring already, so I used some sweet pastels on these ones. supplies: white, pinks, yellows and Green Apple cardstock, dps from Echo Park Spring Dots & Stripes and Spring Dots & Stripes Gingham pads from 2018, The Greetery Sunflower Botanicuts dies, Hero Arts leaf die, (retired) Winnie & Walter hello die What I most liked about Norine's card was her use of ginghams and dots in 2 sizes, and I've again followed suit for these cards. It helps that I have 2 older Echo Park paper pads in my stash that coordinate nicely with each other. Here's a yellow version. supplies: white, kraft, yellows, and green cardstock, dps from same pads as above, The Greetery Sunflower Botanicuts, Hero Arts leaf die, (retired) Winnie & Walter hugs die I've used this sketch before, first HERE for an autumn card, and HERE for a winter one. And I plan to do a summer version when that gets closer. Thanks for your visit today - have a great one!

I just love this "hi" die from Winnie and Walter. I saw a card made by Janet that was just wonderful and went right over the W& W online store, purchased the "hi" die and cased her card, check it out. I used Altenew's Henneh Elements flowers for the background; colored the flowers with Zig markers. As it turns out my card is applicable to 3 challenges this week: Darnell's NBUS Challenge - Never Before Used Schtuff and Less Is More - New Beginnings (I took this to mean New) and Simon Says Stamp - Work it Wednesday So happy you stopped by today; it's snowing in the Rockies :)
Sentiments can really pack a punch on a card and today I have 2 easy examples of how they can be used giving a toally different look. Today we are creating a Heartfelt Hello Butterfly Card using the Heartfelt Hello Stamp Set and Softly Stippled DSP.
After making a card with a die cut rainbow earlier this week, I had a pile of colourful circles left over. Seeing as I couldn't arrange them into any more rainbows (don't even THINK of putting them in the wrong order!), I decided to try something different. I love making cards out of leftovers!! I stamped a sentiment from Hero Arts "Hello stamp & cut" set. Thanks for visiting :)

We're here again with another MFT Color Challenge! Join us as we create with this powerful color combination. This challenge features rich and dramatic hues to inspire you — Persimmon, Sour Apple, Wild Wisteria, and Black Licorice. Create cards, scrapbook layouts, home decor, treat containers, mixed media, etc. using this color combination and be sure to link your project below for a chance at a My Favorite Things Gift Voucher worth up to $20. Your MFT Challenge & Inspiration Team is back with six fantastic cards using this color palette. Let's see what has been going on in their creative minds. Alice envisioned a Halloween card with this combination, and it's not hard to figure out why! It's the perfect opportunity to play with the Witch Way Is the Candy? stamp set! Erin Lee went all graphic with this bold color combination. It's amazing the impact four colors and a neutral can have on a simple, yet striking design. Jill paired the Stitched Traditional Tag STAX and Jumbo Dot Cover-Up Die-namics for this decidedly punchy design. The addition of Kraft lightens up a color combination that could otherwise be rather heavy. Miriam goes retro with the color combination creating a swell background with the rad swoop from Blueprints 25. It's a perfect complement to the Television Die-namics and Stay Tuned stamp set! Vera's little party cow from The Whole Herd stamp set looks pretty happy to be resting on a Sour Apple green tag waiting for all of his friends. The Wild Wisteria brick wall makes for an unexpected (and FUN) background. Veronica chose to gather the colors in a delicate bouquet using the Modern Bloom stamp set and Die-namics, and she added only touches of the Black Licorice giving this card a sweet and lovely look. Remember that color combinations can be utilized in small doses with a lighter neutral rather than overwhelming a design. Congratulations, *Vicki*! You are the randomly selected winner of the MFT Color Challenge. You can view all the entries from the last challenge HERE. If you are looking for further color inspiration, feel free to download past MFT Color Combinations HERE. Today I continue a 7-year tradition of looking back throughout this year on my blog and choosing my favorites of the year. If you'd like further details, each one is linked back to its original post that will show you the supplies/techniques I have used. Just click on the card. This year, Altenew came out with layering dies, and I was sold! For Valentine's Day, some hearts and flowers......I still love the effect that an embossed background adds. .....and a CAS wreath card. A sewing theme theme going on in the next 2 cards - I fell in love with Tammy Tutterow's Sew Sweet dies, designed for felt projects, but just as sweet using paper! More Altenew - from their Sewn with Love stamps and matching dies - these appear to be cross-stitched, but they aren't! This next Simon stamp reminded me of a bouquet of violets, so I made my own little tussy mussy. I CASEd my own card from back in 2014, substituting gingham papers for the washi tape I originally used, and dies for the stamps. And a Mother's Day card using PTI, Altenew, and Simon goodness. Florals and stripes in sherbet colors ...... Love these bright happy colors from Sunny Studios paper pads: A card using some Spellbinders dies, a gingham, and blues: More favorites, planking and painted flowers.... Another fave motif, plaid, in happy colors! I made several cards using these Birds of a Feather dies and loved them all! ......and thinking ahead to fall - love the seasonal colors I can get using distress inks, just as pretty as our maple trees in front of our home. I enjoyed making this colorful one for a Simon Wednesday blog challenge, especially paper-piecing with this pretty patterned paper. But I wasn't finished with summer yet! More fave motifs, birds and plaid again. ....and a CASE of a card by Pam Sparks - I love her work! As usual, I was late to the party discovering Concord &9th's Turnabout stamp sets......I love the freedom they give us in choosing colors! I liked this mix of a cover plate and layered stamping for Thanksgiving. And finishing up the year, some Christmas cards and tags. The biggest change this year is my output - blog posts are down from previous years. Blogging in general is being replaced by IG and other social media sites. They're okay, but I still enjoy the process of creating and sharing my thoughts and ideas, and having this forum to preserve them. Hope you do, too, and will continue to occasionally visit me here! Many thanks for your visit - I'm wishing you all a happy, healthy and creative New Year!
