Modulek designed and delivered a double classroom building complete with extensive external works all within a very short time span. A replacement retaining wall formed part of the works, demonstrating Modulek’s flexibility to deliver all elements of the project. This grand Bristol cinema demolished long ago. The site is now a Waitrose Supermarket and a small multiscreen cinema called "The Orpheus" in memory of the old building. The original cinema was opened on February 28th 1938 it seated 1400. and in my opinion was the best cinema in Bristol. I am seeking photos of the lobby and upper lobby areas, and the atrium, which were exceptional, please do let me know if you have any. This shot shows the cinema not too long before closure when it was showing "adult" movies, the decline had begun….

Where have all the trees gone? From idyllic rural setting to suburban high street. Formerly one of the entrance lodges to Henley Grove mansion/estate. The land was sold off for development in the 1920s to 1940s. The mansion itself (situated between Lawrence Grove and Springfield Grove) surviving until the 1960s, before demolition to make way for further houses.
