-This is a green tea kit made with botanicals, herbs and green tea to create special blends to enjoy at home. Drinking a cup of freshly infused tea is relaxing, calming and restorative! The nine herbal containers hold rose petals, French blue lavender, chamomile flowers, hibiscus petals, blue mallow, peppermint, calendula, jasmine and rose hip. The six tea containers hold three kind of green tea, Japanese sencha, African green and chinese gunpowder. Green tea comes from the Camellia Senensis plant but is not fermented. The brew is lighter and milder than black tea and contains less caffeine. Green tea is known for its antioxidant properties. Gunpowder is more dense than other teas so if you are making a teapot full you only require one or two teaspoons for a teapot. Chinese researchers have found that gunpowder tea is high in fluoride and known to reduce cavities. They say that a human body requires 1-2 milligrams of fluoride a day. Ten grams of gunpowder tea (enough to make 3 cups of strong tea) can supply this amount. African Green Tea is increasingly popular with people who enjoy its mild, gentle fragrance and appreciate it as a healthy beverage because of its beneficial effects. This tea is low in caffeine, low in tannin and carries a very high content of antioxidants. Sencha tea has high vitamin, mineral and antioxidant quantities, yet still it provides an excellent flavor and rich aroma. This tea is grown exclusively in the Shizuoka region of Japan. You can follow the recipe that is included to brew your tea, or try creating your own special blend of botanical tea! Each kit contains 10 unbleached tea bags to steep the tea and botanicals in. The containers can be used again for spices or to hold seeds, beads or other tiny things. Available in one size: 11" x 7" x 1" Finish: Hand brushed aluminum Each container is 1 oz by volume (not weight). Containers are individually sealed for safe shipping. * Please note, when pregnant or nursing only limited amounts of green tea should be used, and it can also interfere with MAO inhibitors and blood thinning medication. ©2020 purpose design
