1934 Hispano-Suiza J12 Gallery Much of the chassis was over-engineered to achieve a near-silent operation noise ease of use. It had fully adjustable servo-assisted brakes and the transmission was geared for the extreme torque made by the engine. The J12 was one of the most expensive pre-war chassis, costing $10,150. As the name implies, Hispano-Suiza was born in Spain of the genius of Swiss engineer Marc Birkigt. The most legendary "Hissos" were, however, produced in the factory in France, which opened in 1911. Most significant of the French Hispano-Suizas was the H6 of 1919, which was described by British historian T.R. Nicholson as "the last word in advanced transport for the rich."

This Concours event is held by the Classic Car Club of America Museum, which is part of the Gilmore Museum complex. This car was rebodied by Henri Chapron in 1931 for the 1932 Paris Auto Show.
