A Fashion Bloggers Golden Dining Room Style Fashion Blogger Macy Stucke has some amazing style, so when it came to her first new home we couldn't wait to help her with her home fashion as well! She transformed her impeccable fashion taste into her home decor style and no surprise, it was just as big of a hit with her 430k+ Instagram followers as her fashion. We are so excited to share Macy's dining room reveal along with the gorgeous tablesetting we helped her style. With mega shine, 24k gold and silver Macy's tablescape look is anything but boring. The perfect modern glam tabletop look for the fashionista that is extra, but never too too much. We adore the understated grey and neutrals of her dining room style to make this classic look just pop! See her tablescape shopping details including the Tempio Luna Gold collection by Michael Wainwright and and stunning accents by Kim Seybert at the end! We interviewed Macy Stucke on her experience of being a first time home buyer and her decorating experience and here's what she had to say: QUESTION:: What pointers would you give first home buyers on the actual selection process and knowing your own personal Home style? MACY:: I would suggest to go on Houzz for months prior to building/buying your house and constantly pin photos you like. I would suggest doing it often too – like several times a week. By doing this you will get a really good idea of what you like and have photos to help articulate your tastes to your Realtor or builder. The photos you save will reveal what’s most important to you, what your eye is drawn too and most importantly – what your house should look like! THE AHA MOMENT:: Did you know this was “the one” the moment you walked in the door? Explain how you just knew! ANSWER:: Well, it’s kind of a funny story – the home I bought is actually right next door to the apartment I used to live in so I literally watched (from my bedroom window) my house being built from the ground up. And as crazy as it sounds from the second they broke ground on my now house, I instantly knew it was my dream home. Why? 100% because of the location. Having lived next door I knew how much I loved the location and that no matter what house was being built I would be happy there because I loved the location – and the location of your home, unlike finishing selects, is something you can never change which is why it was the top priority for me. THE HARD QUESTIONS FOR THE REALTOR/SELLER: What were the questions that you asked your agent when considering what home to buy? MACY:: I had to be the easiest person my realtor every worked with! I literally saw the house once for about 15 minutes and then put an offer on the house! QUESTION:: Did you need to do a lot of work to customize your new home to your style? What construction improvements did you make. New Kitchen, cabinets, hardware, paint, flooring, lighting fixtures, closet. MACY:: I didn’t thankfully! I only made a few minor changes – changing the paint from light grey to white, swapping out all of the lighting fixtures to gold tones and changing the kitchen hardware from chrome to gold. Also, I had California Closets install a huge shoe & handbag wall in my office! QUESTION:: Ok, how fun is designing your home?! Was it overwhelming? Where did you start? Did you hire an interior designer or do it yourself? MACY:: It was SO fun and SO overwhelming! I had a lot of experience with interior design from helping my mom decorate her home so we mainly did the whole thing together. I normally am very confident and sure with interior design decisions but when it came to my house, I became very unsure and constantly doubted myself. I hated it but would overthink everything. Looking back I wish I would have enjoyed the process more and been more confident because everything turned out exactly how I dreamed of. All of that stress was unnecessary! We started first with lighting fixtures and then built everything around that. We wanted everything to flow nicely. After that we focused on the main floor which was the living, dining room and kitchen. QUESTION:: If you hired a designer, how involved were you? What were the most important things that your designer helped you with? (space planning, light plan, materials, etc..) MACY:: The designer helped with the living room and I was very involved in telling what I wanted/liked. They would provide me options and make sure that the sizing was appropriate and then I would pick my favorites. I highly recommend having a designer. They seriously make your life SO, 1000x much easier! Want to nab some of Macy's 24k home style?
