After the eradication of sin, the earth will be transformed into the home of the redeemed. What will it be like? In Revelation 21:1, John saw “a new heaven and a new earth”. The Bible refers to three heavens: the sky, the starry universe, and the place where God dwells (2 Cor. 12:2). In Revelation 21:1, the earth’s … Continue reading -->

Be Transformed by a Glimpse of Paradise · What will heaven be like? What will we do? Who will we see? · How can I become more excited about heaven as my true home? · Is it possible that knowing more about heaven will result in greater joy and purpose in my daily life? It's not easy separating fact from fiction when it comes to heaven, nor is it always easy to see how the afterlife can affect our lives today. After a car accident caused his nineteen-year-old son to unexpectedly enter heaven, Pastor Steve Berger chose to reject despair and commit himself to carefully studying his son's new, eternal home. He had no idea how much there was to learn, and his life hasn't been the same since. This biblical and deeply personal study of heaven will give you hope for the future. But more than that, it will show you what it means to live today in light of the reality of heaven. If your view of heaven isn't life-changing, it needs to be adjusted. Let Pastor Berger's exploration of eternity fill you with overflowing hope, courage, and purpose. "Sometimes we feel stuck--stuck between the hope of heaven and the pain of this world. In Between Heaven and Earth, my friend Steve Berger shows us how to not only live in that tension, but how--and why--we should embrace it."--Dave Ramsey, New York Times bestselling author and nationally syndicated radio show host "I grew up hearing people say, 'Some Christians are so heavenly minded they are of no earthly good.' Nowadays it seems like the church has become so earthly minded we're of no heavenly good. In Between Heaven and Earth, my friend Pastor Steve Berger shows us the absolute necessity of having a heavenly mind-set (Colossians 3:1-2) in order to make a real difference in people's lives while we remain on earth. Embrace the truths of this book--learn how to have your heart in heaven and your hand in the harvest. It's one decision you'll never regret!"--Jeremy Camp "When my friend Steve Berger talks about heaven, I sit up and listen. I've walked with Steve as he's faced the trials of this life, and I've observed how he has emerged with a deeper faith and love for the Father and the people around him. What he has taught me makes me long for heaven. It also makes me want to spend my time on earth making a difference . . . and finishing well."--Michael W. Smith "A beloved pastor and teacher, Steve Berger taught for years on the reality of heaven even as we serve Christ on earth, never knowing that one tragic event would bring both realities irrevocably into sharp focus in a moment. . . . Some of God's greatest mysteries are wrapped up in tragedy, but the tear-stained wisdom mined in that darkness is a gift to us all. In this marvelous book, heaven will become a greater reality even as we are invited to live our lives on earth with greater passion."--Sheila Walsh, author of The Storm Inside "Steve has a rich, compelling perspective on Glory that will give you fresh grace to lean into the perfect love of Jesus today. Therefore, I encourage readers not to stop at just one--instead buy a whole case of these puppies and pass them out to all your friends and family!"--Lisa Harper, author, Bible teacher and Women of Faith speaker "In stark contrast to the Bible--and the whole of Christian history--today's believers think little about heaven and much about the comforts, challenges, and distractions of this life. In this much-needed corrective, Pastor Steve Berger challenges and equips us to be more heavenly minded, so we can, in fact, be more earthly good."--Michael Hyatt, New York Times bestselling author 9780764211676 0764211676 0 BOOK Religion NOT_MATURE http://books.google.com/books/content?id=09F3nQEACAAJ&printsec=frontcover&img=1&zoom=5&source=gbs_api en | Author: Steve Berger | Publisher: Bethany House Publishers | Publication Date: Mar 04, 2014 | Number of Pages: 192 pages | Language: English | Binding: Paperback | ISBN-10: 0764211676 | ISBN-13: 9780764211676

Did you know that heaven is mentioned more than five hundred times in the Scriptures? Being a prominent teaching in the Bible, heaven ought to also be prominent in our hearts and in our thoughts. As we become more heavenly minded, we actually become of more earthly good! God has placed within our hearts a hunger for eternity, a hunger for heaven. And if we do not understand that and we do not feed that hunger with the spiritual truth of the Word of God, we will end up trying to satisfy that hunger with vain and tawdry things that will leave us empty and without satisfaction. The truth is, we can never approximate all that God has prepared for us in our heavenly home. And we cannot recreate heaven on earth. But when we choose to focus on and prepare for the eternal home that awaits us, our earthly focus is shifted toward living a life that honors God and leads others to Him. IS HEAVEN A REAL, PHYSICAL PLACE? Heaven is no figment of the imagination; nor is it a feeling, a state of mind, or the invention of man. Heaven is a literal place prepared by Christ for a prepared people. In John chapter 14, Jesus Himself leaves His disciples with this promise: In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. JOHN 14:2-3 It is interesting to note that the Greek term translated place in this passage is actually the word topos, which more specifically refers to a locatable place. From this promise we can have full confidence that heaven is a real, physical place—a place where believers will one day reside with their Savior! HOW MANY LEVELS OF HEAVEN ARE DESCRIBED IN THE BIBLE? The Bible speaks of three distinct heavens. 1. The first heaven is described in Isaiah 55:9-10 and is the atmosphere surrounding the earth—the domain of the clouds and birds (Genesis 1:20). 2. The second heaven is spoken of in Genesis 1:14-17 as the domain of the heavenly bodies: the sun, moon, stars, planets, and galaxies. 3. Paul described in his second letter to the Corinthians being "caught up to the third heaven" (2 Corinthians 12:2), which is beyond the first and second levels of heaven and is the dwelling place of God—where we will one day join Christ. WHERE IS THE EXACT LOCATION OF HEAVEN? We do not know precisely, but we know that it is "up." Ephesians 4:10 says that Christ "ascended far above all the heavens," meaning heaven is above us. However, "up" is a different locale depending on where you are located on the earth. Satan, addressing God in Isaiah 14:13, said, "I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north," which would indicate that heaven is located in the north. Even though we do not know the exact location, we know that it is a specific place being prepared for God's people. IS IT POSSIBLE FOR A CHRISTIAN'S NAME TO BE "BLOTTED OUT" OF THE BOOK OF LIFE? In order to understand how the Book of Life works, it may be necessary for us to better understand the Roman and Greek practices of the first century. Cities in John's day had a registry that contained the name of every person who lived within the confines of that city. But if a person defiled his citizenship, he could be called before the tribunal, and his name would be removed from the registry—literally "blotted out" of the city book as a penalty for his actions. He would no longer be considered a citizen of that particular metropolis, and he would be consigned either to live in anonymity or to move elsewhere. With that concept in mind, I believe the Book of Life is a book originally containing the name of every person born into this world. But if a person dies having rejected God's offer of salvation, his name is blotted out of the Lamb's Book of Life. WHAT IS THE LAMB'S BOOK OF LIFE, AND WILL MY NAME BE IN IT? The Bible says that in heaven, there is a book, or a registry, called the Lamb's Book of Life. And the names of all who will be in heaven are recorded in that one book. William R. Newell, a great Bible scholar, said there are four things to be noted about the Book of Life: 1. It is the absence of one's name, not one's good works, that dooms a person. 2. Evil works are not the issue. Many of earth's greatest sinners' names are recorded in the Book of Life because they accepted God's offer of salvation. 3. Those whose names do not appear in the Book are cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:15). 4. All names found in the Book were written before the Judgment Day. There is no record of names being recorded (decisions being made) on that day. Revelation 21:27 says "there shall by no means enter [into heaven] anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life" Christ is the only way to heaven. And one day, Jesus will say to those who rejected Him, "I never knew you; depart from Me" (Matthew 7:23). We cannot earn our passage to heaven simply by being "good" people or by living "good" lives. Ultimately, we will not be granted entrance to heaven unless we repent of our sins and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior—then we can have full confidence that our names are recorded in the Book of Life. Known for her runway model dimensions, her motorcycle, and a sassy mouth, Kim broke the mold for Social Studies teachers. My new colleague and I were worlds-apart-different from each other, but in working together we found common ground. I had a front row seat to watching Kim transform from “Christian in name only” to a
Will heaven be boring? What will God and heaven look like? Will I enjoy heaven? Are animals in heaven? These questions, among others, often enter the hearts and minds of people envisioning their final heavenly home. Often, theologians and pastors have placed unnecessary restrictions on heaven, whereas others have claimed that heaven should not be discussed because of so many uncertainties. But is this helpful? Furthermore, is it even biblical? In the book Conversations about Heaven, Dr. Brian Chilton reflects on a conversation he had with a lady from Huntsville Baptist Church who asked some of the most challenging questions he ever received. They both discovered that if God is the greatest possible being and heaven is God's greatest gift, then heaven is a place that is far greater than anything ever imagined. Conversations about Heaven challenges you to vastly expand your thoughts on heaven, as heaven will far exceed even our greatest imaginations, and it encourages you to regularly reflect on the great things that lie ahead in your heavenly home. | Author: Brian G. A HUSBAND who spotted an angel-shaped cloud above his home reckons it’s a sign the heavens are watching over his wife as she recovers from surgery. Jeff Conibear, 57, was relaxing in his back…
It is already New Year but here I am still blogging about Christmas ornaments. Yesterday, we already packed our Christmas tree and decors and while keeping our ornaments I saw the ornaments that I made last year including the memorial ornaments. I did not imagine that I would be making memorial ornaments but these past two years were so heartbreaking. The year 2019, when my grandmother and sister-in-law passed away and I never thought that 2020 is another devastating year. As early as January, my father passed away and after three months, my sister passed away. It was so sudden and we did not see it coming. I have no idea that my father’s funeral is also the last time that I will see my sister. I won’t deny that it was really hard to celebrate Christmas without them. Every time I write my Christmas gift list, it will always remind me that they are no longer part of my list. Moving forward, they may be gone but they can still be part of our holiday so I decided to make Memorial Christmas Ornaments. I was contemplating if I will buy acrylic blanks but since I need a few pieces of them, I ordered Wooden Blanks. I bought angels and round but the angels are too small to write the message, names, and death anniversary so I ended up using the wooden round blanks. I downloaded Memorial SVG files at Creative Fabrica. They have different options but here are the designs that I personally used for my project. Because someone we love is in heaven, there is a little bit of heaven in our home. Check the design here and here. Your wings were ready but our hearts were not Christmas with you in heaven will never be the same. I watch for signs you’re with me each and every day. I remember Holiday’s past with both joy and sorrow in my heart. Until we meet again I can feel we’re never far apart. Remembering you is easy, I do it every day. Missing you is a heartache that never goes away I have an angel looking out for me Materials Glossy Sticker Paper Christmas Tree Wooden Blank Painting Craft PHP133 - 10 pcs (bought it from Lazada) At first, I want to use my Cricut Maker but I know that it is hard to weed if there are small letters so I just made a Printable sticker. I measured the wooden blanks and using Photoshop, I created circles and placed the SVG files. I printed this on glossy sticker paper, cut the circles, placed the sticker on wooden blanks, and put string. I added the name and death anniversary below the design except for these two, I placed the name and death anniversary at the back using vinyl stickers. An easy DIY Christmas project. Read: DIY Christmas Cardinal Ornaments As I’ve said before, it is hard to celebrate the holidays after you lose someone but to help you to move forward, I will share with you this song that I kept playing since the start of ber-months. Where You Are by Craig Aven I'm not going to lie, Christmas really hurts this time 'Cause, you're not here to celebrate with me. Tears fill my eyes, And memories flood my mind, As I place your ornament upon our tree. Although this year, I have a broken heart It gives me hope and joy as I remember where you are. You're with the Son of God You're with the Prince of Peace You're with the One we're celebrating And that thought amazes me. Sometimes I still break down grieving that we're apart But the sweetest gift is knowing where you are 'cause you're with the Son of God. Got your picture in the frame And a stocking with your name Oh God knows it's been hard letting go. And I can't bring you back But I'll see you again. And oh that thought is healing to my soul. And I'll miss making angels with you in the snow. I guess instead you will be singing with them all around the throne. 'Cause You're with the Son of God You're with the Prince of Peace You're with the One we're celebrating And that thought amazes me. Sometimes I still break down grieving that we're apart, But the sweetest gift is knowing where you are. You're with the Son of God. And I know how much this season was your favorite time of year. You loved to help us decorate the tree But now that you're with Jesus Can't imagine how you feel Cause He's the one who bled and died upon the tree for you and me. You're with the Son of God You're with the Prince of Peace You're with the One we're celebrating And that thought amazes me. Sometimes I still break down grieving that we're apart, but the sweetest gift is knowing where you are. Yes, the sweetest gift is knowing where you are. Yes, the sweetest gift is knowing you're in His arms. You're with the Son of God. * This post contains affiliate links.
