The house was built for two families in Austin and therefore is split into two living areas. The house consists of two pavilions connected by a glass hallway. The design was greatly influenced by different regions and cultures. Both the use of the roof as an outdoor living space and the shading devices are derived from Moorish architecture. The body of water and the spatial continuity between inside and outside was inspired by Asian architecture. while the structural transparency of the volumes and the minimalist aspect of the interior was derived from Japanese pavilions. The house is constructed of a modular steel frame. The frame is infilled with prefab thermasteel panels to minimize construction on-site waste. The structural frame is exposed, showing the construction process and articulating the house’s facades. The repetitive modular method, as well as the prefabrication allowed for greater efficiency during construction. Today I have this large 5 bedroom family home to show you. It's a good size and would suit the growing family. The guest bedroom could be used as a teenagers retreat. The master is spacious with its own living area and huge WIR behind the bed. I like that!

Vintage Postcard, 1976 Ottobeuren, Bavaria (Bayern) Note: recently, I have been finding this photo all over the blogosphere. While I don't mind it being used, I would really appreciate it if when clicked on, it comes back here to Flickr. Today, I found it being used all by itself on someone's blog, with no track-back. Obviously, it would be considerate if people asked permission first.
Hi there! Today I have this plan which has been designed to maximise the northerly aspect of the sun. I found it here. I like that the main living spaces are situated to the rear of the home with the kitchen offering abundant space. This home also embraces outdoor living aspects…

Oooo this is a goodie today. A big house, but still a really good plan. I love a u-shaped house… I always imagine a pool and outdoor area fit for a king in all of that enclosed space. I wouldn’t need to change anything in this house. It’s got a formal…
