Many of my students with language impairment struggle to answer WH-questions correctly. They need my help to figure out how to handle a question or just to determine what type of information someone is asking for when they use the different WH-question forms. Many of my students rely on visual supports to help them learn these concepts. They also need lots of models and practice. With visual supports, models, and repeated practice, they begin to show improvement in this area. This resource, along with the others in this WH-question series, is something I created when working in Preschool and K-2 classrooms with students with developmental delays and Autism. These sets were all tried and tested by me and my special education teammates. We saw growth with students who really struggled with answering questions, including those who would just repeat the question back when asked. This resource includes 10 different FAIRY TALE themed WH-question scenes, as well as a set of WH-question form visual supports for WHO, WHAT, WHEN, and WHERE. This resource includes multiple options for prep and use including: 1)printing and laminating a book for repeated uses, 2) printing paper copies for individual students to send home or leave with the classroom teacher, and 3) The NO PREP option to download it directly to your iPad, tablet, laptop, or smart board, etc. *********************************************************************************************** Earn Free TPT Credits toward future purchases! About The Artwork In the paintings by A. Vystropov the form will never prevail over the content and will not become an end in itself. The philosophy of life of the artist-romantic is often based on the internal need for the ‘subjective experience of time’. He interprets the meaning of each of his paintings as an expression of a certain idea by visual means, which is in tune with the present. But he remains the temperamental lyricist and philosopher at the same time. He does not try to educate or to instruct anybody. Good and Evil, Love, which transforms the world, the eternal search for the ideal, these are the themes that ‘torment the soul of the artist’ who never makes conclusions and who never gives definitive answers. Zdenek Knoflichek, the Czech art critic, wrote in 2001: “… seemingly incongruous objects, symbols of parts, are combined into a meaningful whole that speaks to the viewer from within the artist’s experience. Each painted figure, and every object has its place and its role in the composite.” Original Created:2015 Subjects:Classical mythology Materials:Canvas Styles:Figurative Mediums:Oil Details & Dimensions Painting:Oil on Canvas Original:One-of-a-kind Artwork Size:35.4 W x 39.4 H x 0.8 D in Frame:Not Framed Ready to Hang:Not applicable Packaging:Ships Rolled in a Tube Shipping & Returns Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments. This resource provides all the components your students need to practice finding the area of composite figures. This can often be a challenging skill to explain and teach to students, but with an engaging karate theme, your students will love it! This resource includes three parts: Part 1: Guided Practice (small group intervention or reteaching) Part 2: Independent or Partner Practice (task cards) Part 3: Quick-check assessment Standards addressed: TEKS 3.6(D) decompose composite figures formed by rectangles into non-overlapping rectangles to determine the area of the original figure using the additive property of area (Readiness Standard). CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.MD.C.7.D Recognize area as additive. Find areas of rectilinear figures by decomposing them into non-overlapping rectangles and adding the areas of the non-overlapping parts, applying this technique to solve real-world problems. The Math Intervention Series was created based on a need for quick, easy prep activities that could be used with students who need additional practice in key math skills. It is designed to be used with a small group during a guided math workshop or tutoring session. The individual components of this resource (guided practice, independent or partner practice, and assessment) are designed for a specific time frame – about 15 to 20 minutes per activity. This resource can be used in one day or spread across several days. This resource includes: Resource information, including when the resource is used and teacher prep of materials (if needed) Small-group lesson plans, word problems, and answer keys Independent task cards for math centers Quick-check assessment This resource prints well in black and white or color. Miller’s themes of group-think, powerful teenage girls, personal revenge, and forbidden love make The Crucible a play that is especially timely today. Students will quickly realize how much this play speaks to questions and ideas that are central to their lives. However, if you don't have a unit that focuses on the most essential elements of each scene, your students will be confused and frustrated and fail to understand what they can learn from this classic text. You'll be wasting your time and theirs and the only thing you'll teach your students is how boring literature is. (Trust me, I've been there!) I've spent so much time over the years working to understand how best to teach this book, and after much hard work, I've figured it out so you don't have to. Honed over years of teaching, this 60-page guide to The Crucible will insure that your students get what they need from this short masterpiece. When you teach The Crucible with this unit you will: Let your students slowly start to grapple with the text by using the no-prep handouts—first with your help, and then more and more on their own—until they are fully confident reading the language independently. Have ready-made plans for each class period when you follow the pacing guidelines which break the text into manageable sections, starting off slowly and then reading more as your students gain in confidence. Enjoy reading the play out loud in class, so that your students can more fully experience the drama. Get a deeper understanding of the key themes and focuses of each chapter with the extensive explanations and answer keys so that you can help your students better understand the play. Enable your classes to understand how literary devices work to create meaning in a text when they analyze Miller’s artistry using the questions for close reading. Get to know your students on a deeper level when you work through the book together. Challenge your students to question their own assumptions about power, gender, sexuality and group dynamics when they grapple with the discussion questions included for each scene. Easily assess your students' understanding of the play with the no-prep quizzes and test. Help the next generation to more fully appreciate the nuances of the American experience. There are no lectures or power points here—students will do the work themselves, with guidance from you. Rather than telling them what the play means, you will be empowering them with the confidence and skills to tackle a challenging text on their own. You’re going to love teaching The Crucible this year.

MLK Day is right around the corner and we've been busy trying to find some last minute {and simple!} ideas that you can use in the classroom as you and your kiddos explore the life and legacy of this important historical figure! * * * The KinderGals, Kim and Megan, never disappoint when we need fun activities on the fly! Here are several awesome math and literacy activities from Kim's 'Hooray for Martin Luther King (MLK) Day' packet! All About Martin Luther King Photo Source: KinderGals As you read books about Martin Luther King Jr. (and perhaps even watch Dr. King's famous speech!), make sure your kiddos are recording their learning along the way! Simple journal pages where students can record a sentence and/or draw a picture are a neat and simple way to do this! We also think Kim's cute craftivity, where students create a likeness of Dr. King and write several short sentences about him, provides a wonderful 'wrap-up' activity! Cause & Effect with Dr. King Photo Source: KinderGals Cause and effect is a repeating theme, both in learning and life, and is a great concept to explore as you and your kiddos discuss the life and purpose of Martin Luther King. Kim's flow chart provides a fantastic visual of the concept and aids in walking students through each step in the discussion; "What was wrong?" - What did Dr. King want to change? "What did Dr. King do?" "What happened?" - What were the results of Dr. King's work? MLK Number Combinations Photo Source: KinderGals Dr. King had four children - two boys and two girls. Using this fun fact, along with clip art and activity mats, Kim had students determine how many other ways they could make four kids - i.e. 0 boys and 4 girls, 1 boy and 3 girls, etc. A simple, yet unique way to learn about MLK while also practicing problem solving and other early math skills! The best part about these activities? You can find all of them - plus lots more! - in Kim's "Hooray for Martin Luther King (MLK) Day!" packet on Teachers Pay Teachers! We suggest heading over to check it out as well as visiting KinderGals for other awesome ideas! It really is a fabulous resource!
