Located on what felt like the steepest incline EVER! The beautiful little quaint area of Paris called Montmartre is a tiny slice of high up there heaven. It literally is high up there, look at the view you can see to the right of the worlds most instagrammable pink building 'La Maison Rose'. We treated ourselves to a drink at La Consulat once we'd reached this extra cute and traditional section on Paris. I assumed we'd be queuing out the door to get a table however the whole area was a ghost town! It was fantastic! Not sure if it was due to the time of year or perhaps time of day but we wandered around this whole area as if it was our own vip village. The weather was chilly and crisp but my oversized cream knit kept me extra warm. The polka dot tights that were extremely adventurous for my day-to-day style (but hey . . . when in Paris) were not meant for a freezing cold day at all but I was fully committed to the look! When dusk arrived, the views got more and more breathe taking so we continuously stopped for macaroons, almond croissants and hot chocolate to draw out our adventures in Montmartre. Me and the hubby have celebrated many birthdays together but to turn 31 on the same day, together in Paris, really was a special day :-) Wearing Leather jacket || All saints Knit Jumper || H&M Tights || Ebay Boots || Bertie @Dune Bag || Dior Sunnies || Quay Australia Scarf || Primark
There was absolutely no messing about when we heard The Tiffany Blue Box cafe would be coming to Harrods. Me and Kate spent a good few weeks, every Friday (and midnight on Thursday night just in case) trying to book a table. They release tables for 2 weeks ahead every 'Friday morning' which we interpreted as 'from midnight onward'. It was actually more like Friday at 10.32am-ish when the tables were released. I was refreshing my screen every 3 seconds in Manchester and Kate was trying to organise the situation from London. After 3 hours of this, we thought we'd buggered it up but then eventually a miracle happened. Kate stepped off the tube back into the land of wifi to a mental whatsapp from me in shouty capitals saying 'WE'RE IN'! Are you and your friends like this? For a little tiny while do you forget about life's actual real problems and step into a world of blissful first world ones like getting a table at Tiffany's in Harrods?! It's true, all of the blogging community are flocking to floral themed cafes, restaurants and bars right now. When I have one on my doorstep in Manchester, as if I'm not going to go and be one of the cool kids! Not only are there flower walls at Sunset by Australasia, the decor is oh so pink. It's dreamy! Along seashell light fittings and boho beach effect white washed wood, it's a lush surrounding to sit and sip a cocktail. Manchester is having a bit of a bumpy time with it's restaurant scene at the mo, a few of my faves have shut their doors for good and a nice big clump of new ones have opened all within the Spinningfields area. The enormous department store sized Ivy has arrived and the new-ish 22 Stories is another fab rooftop hot-spot. After a look around Harvey Nicks and Selfriedges, we walked on down to Sunset and began to work our way through a few of their delicious 'prosecco sorbet sunrisers' which are extremely refreshing in the current 5 minute long heat wave we are experiencing. If you are shopping in Manchester, head down to 'The Avenue' for a quick cocktail break. The table next to us had the signature afternoon tea served in a Bento box which looked ridiculously amazing (and very instagrammable). There is always next time!
