In addition to a huge commercial block in the style, Wabash boasts this beautiful Second Empire house. "Indiana Houses of the Nineteenth Century" lists it at 208 W. Hill St and says it was built in 1870. It appeared to be in good condition except for some brick damage on the tower. Unfortunately, the blue spruce planted in the front here have since obscured the view. (last time I checked anyway) Woodwork is exceptional if viewed larger. This picture was taken in 1992 and unfortunately, since then the little spruce trees have grown large enough to obscure the facade. I'm a landscaper but, come on, don't do that!

VINTAGE 1940'S ANIMATED INDIANA STATE MAP PRINT This neat Indiana picture map features sketches of farming, buildings, people, animals, industry, and more. Thoughtful, carefully reproduced print of a 1940's map which originally came from a vintage travel book. Printed on thick, premium quality paper in beautiful rich color. Print measures approximately 10 by 14 inches. More maps in this series: https://etsy.me/2VBorVS Many of my customers purchase maps as wedding and anniversary gifts. One for the bride's birthplace, one for the grooms! Neat idea! Other neat ideas: vintage maps are really pretty used as background for scrapbooking, in collage art, paper art and mixed media crafts, and for genealogy purposes. I think it would be fun to frame several of these maps and display them in a group. A grouping might include your birthplace, places you have visited on vacation or a honeymoon. These make fun gifts!
