**Macro photography** is also known as close-up photography. Compared to other types of photography, macro photography is quite difficult, because of the nifty equipment, lightning and other techniques involved. However, in the end it comes down to what kind of pictures you want to take and what level of precision you are striving for.

The Most Important Insect On Earth.
About The Artwork Drawn to organic forms my inspiration comes from nature. As a child I was mesmerized by butterflies and ladybugs, and I liked to observe ants and fuzzy caterpillars. At the same time I was fearful of insects that moved too quickly or might sting. Once I started painting them, though, my fear of certain insects turned into an appreciation of their important ecological role, and to this day insects of all kinds are one of my favorite subjects. Blue Hercules is one in a series of natural history insect paintings with a modern approach. Backgrounds with gradating acrylic washes contrast with the intricately detailed realism of each insect. The art was created using acrylic paint on paper in combination with digital medium. Image size: 11.125"x18.5", Paper size: 16.125"x23.5" Limited edition prints are hand signed and sequentially numbered by the artist. Each print includes a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
