Keisai Eisen (渓斎 英泉, 1790–1848) - was one of the best Japanese Ukiyo-E Artists who specialized in Bijin-ga ( pictures of beautiful women). This woodblock print is signed by the artist and sealed by the censor's KIWAME ('approved") seal. From 1790 to 1876 (period from most of the best of Ukiyo-E and Bijin-ga were produced) when formal censorship created, all woodblock prints had to be examined by official censors and marked with their seals.
