- Imprints of real Ginkgo Biloba leaves. The tree and leaves of Ginkgo Biloba are sacred to the Japanese and Chinese. It is used in folk medicine. There are many stories and legends about this tree. These leaves are grown on a tree that I have been caring for for 18 years. - This is a painting made in technique of Japanese Gyotaku. The origins of this art in Japan dates back to over 200 years ago. To do this, you need water-based ink, rice half-baked paper, and a real object to be mirrored. (Originally caught fish). The ink is applied to the object, and an imprint is made by rubbing the ink into the paper. - Rice paper made according to ancient technology, which has been used since the 6th - 7th centuries. (Take a closer look at it, and you will see an imprint of the grid on which the paper was spread.) - The color of the paper is beige, interspersed with gold foil. - The size of the canvas - 40 x 50 cm (16'' by 20”). - Each work is almost individual and unique, since it is impossible to make 2 identical imprints. You can only repeat the plot. - When taking an imprint, the paper gets wet and when it dries, it warps a little. This indicates the authenticity of the print. These "wrinkles" give the picture a more realistic, natural, ecological look under the glass, in the frame. If the paper doesn’t have these folds and “wrinkles”, then most likely you are offered a computer copy printed on a printer. - In order for you to evaluate the authenticity of the imprint, to see the "wrinkles", our picture has been photographed under glass, and without glass, in real lighting. The resolution of the photo allows you to see the picture in all details. And the frame which you may buy separately will give the picture a complete, expressive and impressive look. - Pictures are sent without a frame, as they are very often damaged during the transfer. They are delivered in a strong tube, which you can see in the photo. - You can purchase the frame separately. The initial price of such a frame is not high; it depends on the quality and shape of the baguette. Standard European size is 40 x 50 cm, US size is 16'' x 20”. - All my works bear my personal Japanese stamp - Hanko and my European stamp. - We are open to an offer for individual design of hunting and fishing houses, recreation centers, motels, hotels, and other objects related to nature and tourism. - With respect and willingness to help IGyotaku.

Have you seen the flying carp streamers in Japan? They are known as Koinobori. (Admittedly, I just learned that term.) They are typically made from a woven fabric and flown during the Japanese celebration known as Tango no sekku. This celebration is dedicated to children and also referred to as Children's Day. This is a celebration of the children of Japan in the hope they may grow up to be strong and resilient like the carp that swim up the waterfalls. Read more about the festivities here. I'v
