If you purchase 5 patterns from my Ravelry Store at the same time (add them all to your cart before you check out), the least expensive one will be free. We’ve spent our summer vacation in 2015 at an old mill - a beautiful, wondrous place, filled with all kinds of animals, flowers and adventures for the kids to discover. So while they were busy revealing secrets, playing in the barn and roasting marshmallows at the campfire, I had a lot of time to sit and knit. It was easy to feel like the miller’s daughter - sitting in the shadows under trees in bloom, watching the cats, listening to the repetitive sound of the mill-wheel and letting the knitting needles do their magic. So when I was all done with my work, when all stitches were bound off and the shawl was ready to take its first bath, it was perfectly clear to me that only one name would be the right one: The Miller’s Daughter. Note For knitting a smaller version, simply leave out 2 repeats of section 2, followed by 6 repeats of section 1. Near my home is an area called Ruhrgebiet, where once nearly every man was a coal miner and the traditional miner’s greeting, “Glückauf”, is still used to wish each other good luck. This asymmetrical triangle shawl takes its name from that greeting, and is inspired by this region. When you visit, you’ll still find old coal mines. Some are in working order, but others have been turned into museums where you can see the conveyor belts which transported ore from the heart of the earth up to the furnaces to be smelted. The twisted ribbing pattern that borders Glückauf reminds me of those conveyor belts, while the shawl’s ribbed body and simple, smokey shade of gray are a tribute to the miners of the region. There’s yarn kits for this pattern available via O-Wool. Is there a little girl in you, too? There’s definitely one in me. I know that pink is not the color I usually feel pretty in. It’s so loud, so emphasizing, like a huge exclamation mark. That’s not me. But then again, I’m sometimes very much drawn towards it. When I looked at the O-Wash palette, there were these two colorways that instantly caught my eye - a dark, brown-ish grey and that stunning pink pop of color. I just had to give in… the girl in me won. ♥ Yardage 2 skeins in „Black Bear“ (color A), 195 g / 656 yds [599 m] used for sample 1 skein in „Bee Balm“ (color B), 99 g / 333 yds [304 m] used for sample Note: All three skeins have almost completely been used up for the original sample. If you want to make sure you don’t run out of yarn, do a gauge swatch. Also, you can safely leave out 1 repeat of Section 2 for a smaller (but still genereously sized) version of the shawl. Marelle is an asymmetrical triangular shawl, knitted top-down on the bias. It has an interesting colorplay, created using different techniques. The “big” color changes are worked in the intarsia technique, the “small” color changes are worked stranded. If you’re not familiar with these techniques - don’t worry, they’re not difficult at all! There is an explanation of both of them in the pattern. This shawl is designed for men, too! Just have a look at the project list, there are some great color combinations there. Yardage requirements are 3 balls of Knit Picks Palette in color A (grey on the sample) and 1.5 balls of Knit Picks Palette in color B (violet on the sample). The Fell Garth Collection is born from a love for beautiful handmades with a practical purpose. Each piece is worked in Cumbria or Cumbria Fingering yarns that were created to be evocative of the mood, light and places that characterise the North West of the UK. All of the pieces in the collection feature rich textures from cables and twisted stitches. With a dash of whimsy and a pinch of practicality, Tamdou is a cosy asymmetrical triangular shawl that’s perfect for showing off bright colors. Latticed lace sections are interspersed with garter stitch stripes, and a splash of picot in a contrast color binds off the edge. The Fiber Company Cumbria Fingering (merino wool, brown masham wool, mohair) creates a fabric that’s both sturdy and soft, with a lovely drape. Yardage 1 skein in „Hadrian’s Wall“ (color A), 90 g / 295 yds [270 m] used for sample 1 skein in „Scafell Pike“ (color B), 92 g / 302 yds [276 m] used for sample 1 skein in „Hellvellyn“ (color C), 100 g / 328 yds [300 m] used for sample Note: Tamdou is designed to make the most of three skeins of Cumbria Fingering, and to leave over as few as possible. So to make sure you don’t run out of yarn, please check your gauge. If you find you run close, you can simply leave out pattern repeats towards the end of the shawl - that won’t change its overall look. Pattern has been tech edited and test knitted. The lace part is charted as well as fully spelled out. Do you like my designs and want to join me on the journey? You’ll find a Ravelry group for discussing my patterns, for test knits and KALs here.

The Waves Collection is a group of 6 patterns from 3 different designers known for their beautiful shawl designs. This shawl is named after a waterfall called Falls of Foyers that feeds into the famous deep freshwater Loch Ness in the Highlands of Scotland. It is worked down and out from the centre of the top edge. There is an option to make a nice stretchy upper neck edge by adding a yarn over after the very first stitch of every row (RS and WS) and then drop it again on the following row. Pattern has been tech edited. Do you like my designs and want to join me on the journey? You’ll find a Ravelry group for discussing my patterns, for test knits and KALs here.
