Hello and happy Friday!! Do you ever get inspired while cleaning up the random pieces on your table? That's how this ATC Ticket Journal came about. While I was cleaning up the aftermath of previous projects I ran across a photo with red stitching alongside a ticket and piece of floral ephemera from there the layers started to flow. The ATC Ticket Journal is the perfect size for a quick project you can complete in an afternoon. I also love that the chipboard is thin enough to stitch on your sewing machine. I kept my layers simple using 3-5 pieces of ephemera. I love how the red stitching pops and adds so much detail. The Ticket Journal is the perfect size with 5 panels. Enough to tell a story but not overwhelming when it comes to decorating. Washi tape adds just the right amount of detail in the background. That pop of red sets my heart aflutter. I didn't decorate the back of the tickets yet so that I can have another reason to clean up the piles of inspiration that accumulate on my table. What's currently on your table? Happy Creating ~ Jennalee

Paper ephemera taking over your craft space? Here's how to organize paper for art journaling, mixed media collage, junk journals and more!
Made these for 3 very awesome Flickr friends....long overdue thank-you's. I accidentally cut the cardboard the wrong size, so I cheated and backed the ATC's with transparency film to make them 3.5x2.5. Had fun with Melody Ross Papers, Tim Holtz Tissue Tape, Glitz Distress Stamps, Nunn Designs and Jewelry Shoppe Embellishments. Only 2 1/2 more weeks of this college semester (it is kicking my booty), then a small break during the Christmas Holidays before I start the next one. Off to study for an exam, as I had to work all day yesterday.... Hope you all have a Happy, love-filled Thanksgiving. I am certainly thankful for all of you. Thanks so much for looking, friends. :)
It's a bit late, but I wanted to share the beautiful pages from the book I received from Karla Nathan's Nature's Blessings Journal Swap a few months ago. There are a quite a few pages so I'll show them in two posts. Karla made the covers which all include a copy of her original angel drawing. She used vintage wallpaper, millinery flowers and lace to make each cover special and unique. Each participant made six "signatures" with each consisting of four pages. Karla compiled them into sets of six that looked lovely together, then bound them into the cover with three blank signatures so that we can add to our books. I won't comment on each set of pages individually, but they are all beautiful as you'll see. I'll list the artist prior to each set. My first set of amazing pages is from Lorraine at Over the Rainbeau. I'm not sure who made the second lovely set of pages, as it just lists the blog name and I've not been able to access the blog. The blog is somewouldevensayitglows.blogspot.com. If the artist sees this or if anyone reading is familiar with this blog, I'd love to know. I'll try to check with Karla, too. The next wonderful pages are by Cheryl Stoneham, who I met at Silver Bella in 2010. I didn't find a blog for her. So much talent and loveliness! I'll be sharing the pages from the other three artists in my next post, so be sure to check back. If you missed the pages I made, you can see them here.

Hello Lovelies. I wanted to share a little look at my brand new journal. I made another A6 journal that I’m planning on using to memory keep in. So, I’ve sort of abandoned my 6×8 scrapbook for this year. I haven’t documented anything in it for a long while now. While working in my little […]
I’ve had these old green binders in my stash for a couple of years now and kept wondering why I was holding on to them. I had no ideas and couldn’t picture them as anything. Then two we…
Hi crafty friends. It’s Kristine and I’m back today with one final post to share my Sir Vagabond in Japan journal with you. If you’re just tuning in, check out my last two posts for the FotoBella blog. In those posts, I show how to create four journal inserts and how to use rice papers for journal covers. Today, I would like to share the final product with you. In my journal, there are digital papers chosen to compliment the Sir Vagabond in Japan collection. These papers feature Japanese inspired images, steampunk images, and old world maps. When I look at the collection, the red colors stand out. So my journal includes pops of red to accent the papers. ‹ › Also, for more of a steampunk look, I chose to use my Graphic 45 regular tag die set which includes a plate of die cut gears. The gold paper gives it the metallic steampunk touch. These tiny details emphasize the Sir Vagabond in Japan papers, but in a muted way. ‹ › Using Items from the Sir Vagabond in Japan Collection Personally, I like to use my collection papers for making the ephemera and embellishing journals rather than as pages. The Sir Vagabond in Japan Backgrounds are ideal for this task since they don’t contain many images. Then, I use the fussy cut pieces from the Collectables papers to add images to the journal pieces. ‹ › Adding some dimension to my journal was easy using the Sir Vagabond in Japan Decorative Chips. These pieces are thin so they do not add much bulk. However, the pieces look cute as embellishments on tags and pages. ‹ › To see a complete flip through of my travel journal, please check out the video below. I hope seeing my journal has inspired you to create a project of your own. Don’t forget to check out the FotoBella online store for all of your scrapbooking needs! Until next time, happy crafting! ~Kristine, FotoBella Design Team Member
Hello!! I always love when a big box of inspiration comes from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts. It's always so fun to dig thru and see what really sparks an idea. In my most recent box, there were these fabulous Mini Trading Coasters (coming soon) and I instantly thought they would make the perfect covers for a small book of some sort. I have been wanting to try my hand at an accordion book so decided to dive right in. I got so caught up in making this project I forgot to take a bunch of pictures but I'll walk you thru my thought process. These Mini Trading Coasters come in a 3 pack and measure 2.5 x 2.5. The possibilities for these are endless. I wanted to keep my book simple with a focus on textures. The cover has a die-cut pattern layered with a torn bingo card. Using a craft pic I was easily able to poke holes thru the Mini Trading Coaster. I then stitched on a button and tied a length of seaming binding around the stitching to act as a closure. I started out by making my accordion insert first. Once the accordion was made I adhered either end to the Coasters. In design, I usually strive for odd numbers but for this particular book 6 pages worked the best. Wanting a mixture of textures I did every other page out of fabric. I picked all my pieces for the main pages and stitched them together on my sewing machine. Once the main pages were sewn together I went back and added any hand stitching or embellishments. This page is actually a baby wipe left over from making rusty ink backgrounds. I accidentally burnt a hole in while drying the page next to it. But it only adds to the texture and interest. Keeping it simple by letting the textures of varying papers do the talking. A handstitched photo printed on muslin. I loved this piece of a vintage time card with the original bit of adding machine tape still attached. I kept the back simple but love the natural patina of the paper. I hope this simple project brings a small spark of inspiration. These trading coasters also come in a larger size so I think I see another book in my future. As always thanks for spending a few minutes with me today. Happy Creating ~ Jennalee I am entering this project into the challenge over at Mini Album Makers. Be sure to check out all the inspiration!! http://minialbummakers.blogspot.com/

Yes, today is Two for Tuesday blog hop at Altered Pages. This month we are hopping with Pink Persimmon. If you've not heard of Pink Persimmon before it's a rubber stamp company with some really beautiful stamp images. Lots of really cool vintage/retro designs which I absolutely adore! Some of my fav's are the House & Home (check out the awesome sewing & fashion stamps), Antiquated (love them all!!!) and Vintage. Well, I was lucky enough to play with the following stamps to create my cards: Sweetheart Silk; Hello Vintage Girl and Style Girl. And here are my projects.... My first card - I like your Style was made using the Sweetheart Silk and Style Girl stamp sets from Pink Persimmon. Her clothes were stamped on Pink Collage Background (AP1724pink) and the sewing related images are from the collage Antique Sewing (AP468). I also used a piece of a real measuring tape and a portion of a set of directions from a dress pattern (in the background) as well as lots of vintage lace, findings, etc. The next card is made using the Sweetheart Silk and Hello Vintage Girl stamps as well as a couple of collage images from the Ladies who Lunch collage sheet (AP477) with a bit of seam binding and a vintage button. The envelope is a glassine envelope also found at Altered Pages. And finally I have a couple smaller cards made from the Sweetheart Silk stamp! They were stamped on a folded piece of cardstock then trimmed leaving a bit of the fold intact. The collage images are again from the Antique Sewing collage sheet (link above). What's even more fun is they fit perfectly inside the ATC sized glassine envelopes! I hope you've enjoyed my contributions to the hop... I had lots of fun making them. Be sure to check out the rest of the fun projects created by the Altered Pages Design Team! Till tomorrow.... Have a wonderfully inky day!

Here is this week's offering. A few posts below you can see a project using some of the elements. Please feel free to use for personal projects. As you can see the post cards are not sized to fit in the envelopes, but if you have a photo editing program it should be easy enough to make them fit if you want.
Well... almost finished! There are still journaling spots left to fill up, but I don't know what to write yet. So here it is! TONS of photo...
