My decode and cover is a fun, hands on, decodable reading game for the Early Years. It is available in 2 sound sequences. This is sequence one. Set 1: s, a, t, p, i, n, m, d, g, o, c, k. Set 2: s, a, t, p, i, n, m, d, g, o, c, k, e, u, r, h, b, f, l, ss, ff, ll, ck. Set 3: s a, t, p, i, n, m, d, g, o, c, k, e, u, r, h, b, f, l, ss, ff, ll, ck, j, v, w, x, y, z, zz, qu. Each game board is colour coded and displays the sound set (1-3). On each word card for each gameboard, the same shape is displayed to make it easy to sort, prepare and pack up this activity when using it in your classroom. The 2D shape visuals help you keep the gameboards and cards together to save you a LOT of time! This resource includes a zip file. You will need to right click and extract all. The three files that are included when you purchase this game are: · A file that contains the colour gameboards along with a kinder friendly font. · Gameboards in black and white. · A font file that includes all playing cards in 7 fonts. The fonts include Sassoon, Vic Cursive, QLD, NSW, SA, Tas. To play: Place the matching deck of cards face down in a pile or scatter them on the floor/ table. Take it in turns to flip over a card. Decode the word and cover the picture that matches. Try to put the word into a sentence showing your understanding of the word. Once all the words are covered, decode the words on the grid as quickly and accurately as you can to work on your fluency. These are all PowerPoint files with locked slides.
