Title: Clown Motel Series: Welcome to the Circus #4 Author: Lani Lynn Vale Release Date: November 21, 2023 REVIEW: 4.5 Stars This is the fourth book in the series. This book had me right from the beginning. The Singh family was in for more of a surprise to see what their awful father was really up to. It's a good thing he isn't living because I couldn't even begin to imagine what would be instore for him. Though these siblings have some cleaning up to do with some stragglers. That brings Winston back into Crimson's life. I like how they push each other's buttons and there is no denying their chemistry. Boy do they get steamy!! The work Winston does has a deeper meaning and learning his backstory boy did my heart just crack open. I don't blame the man for the vengeance he wants to seek. He just never counted on Crimson to bring feelings bubbling to the surface that he thought he would never feel again. This wouldn't be a Lani Lynn Vale book without some suspense and drama. I completely gobbled this book up in a day and a half. I couldn't put it down. This family just sucks me right in. I can't wait for the next book in the series!! BLURB: It’s not every day you meet a man at the bar, stare at him for hours, and then right when you decide to make a move, he gets up to leave. Worse, when you follow him outside, you see him completely change his appearance by shucking a wig and a button down shirt, dropping them into the nearest trash can. When Crimson looks around to see who noticed the complete one-eighty that’s just taken place, not a single person notices or cares. When she looks back, he’s gone. Dejected, she leaves, thinking maybe she’d hallucinated and made the whole night up. Only, just as she passes a dark alley, she’s taken. Literally and figuratively. That’s the night that Winston Cyrus Osborn, III walks into her life. *** Crimson is the worst type of woman. She’s curious. And curiosity kills the cat in his line of work. With nothing else left to lose, he’s set to rid this world of the filth that infests it. And in doing that, he’s made a lot of enemies that would like nothing better than to ruin him and every single person he cares about. At every turn, she’s there, insinuating herself into his life. And despite his attempts to keep her at arm’s length, she blows past every single barrier he erects. He should really stay away. He should also make sure that she stays out of his business. Yet, he keeps letting her in. And she keeps reminding him why he wants her to stay BUY LINKS: Amazon Goodreads Bookbub

There are a few lessons one has to learn for themselves. Then there are the lessons that most people don’t have to learn because it’s just not done. From that point forward, she does her level best to keep her head on straight and not make any more mistakes. Slate Solis went from being a guy that people went to in times of need to an ex-con that people crossed the street to avoid being too close to. He knows he's done wrong, but out of all of his sins, only one really bothers him-coveting thy neighbor's wife. Harleigh Belle-the cute little lady that never gives him a second glance. After seeing her for the first time while he was in prison, she's stayed on his mind for three long years. Each time she comes in to visit with her friend on family day, he can't help but stare. Then the day comes that he's set free, and he's almost disappointed that he'll never see her again. Except fate has different plans. He hasn't been back in his house for more than three hours when he sees her. Harleigh Belle in all her glory . . . oh, and her husband, who is everything Slate isn't. He tells himself that her being fifty feet away from him, all day every day, is a complete coincidence. One that he shouldn't take advantage of. The more time passes, the harder it gets to stay away. Until one day, and one very ill-timed thunderstorm, ruin everything. Who knew that baby-making-weather was a real thing? Contains mature themes.

source: Twitter For anyone who's a sports fan, we all were saddened to hear longtime ESPN anchor Stuart Scott died today at the age of 49. When Stuart first appeared on ESPN in 1993, I was one of those who found his style too brash. But as the years went on, he grew on me. For me, Stuart and Chris Berman are synonymous with the "E" in Entertainment Sports Programming Network. Stuart's death hit hard many of his friends and colleagues, particularly former SportsCenter co-anchor Rich Eisen and current ESPN anchor Hannah Storm. Rest in peace, Stuart. You'll always be as cool as the other side of the pillow. If you haven't already seen it, ESPN aired a wonderful tribute to Stuart. Former ESPN anchor Robin Roberts narrates.

Evander Lennox doesn’t do anything he doesn’t want to do. At least, that is, until he’s sent to prison. The four years he’s incarcerated, he’s had no choice but to do the things that he’s asked to do, when he’s asked to do them. And now, if he doesn’t, it will mean a one-way ticket straight back to hell. Once he’s free, it takes him twenty-four hours to get his old job back, his dog at home where he belongs, and an understanding that people aren’t as forgiving as he once thought them to be. He’s just about given up hope of ever integrating back into society when a woman slams into his heart, literally and figuratively. *** Kennedy Swallow just wants to belong somewhere. When she was younger, her parents divorced, and chose to separate her from her twin. Fast forward fifteen years, and she’s finally getting to meet the family she’s always wanted to be a part of. To make that happen, she uproots her life and moves to the tiny town of Hostel, Texas—giving her almost everything she’s ever wanted. Just when she thinks she’s making progress in winning her family over, she finds out that her twin is ill, and the only reason her family tolerates her is due to the convenience of having a free caretaker whenever they might be in need of one. After a few eye-opening experiences, she quickly realizes that she’s being used. Vowing to herself that she’ll make the best of the situation, she begins to steel her heart. What she doesn’t prepare for is a man named Evander who sees that barrier as a challenge. *** It takes Evander all of ten seconds while watching the woman on the floor, bleeding from her jaw, to realize that maybe life isn’t as bad as it could be. This woman with her thrill for life, a crazy obsession with chickens, and a desire to be wanted, changes everything he thinks he knows. But it doesn’t take long for him to realize that just by being around her, the people of the town have judged her guilty by association. Her business suffers, and soon after, she realizes what it will mean to have him by her side—the loss of everything she’s worked so hard for. Kennedy knows that Evander is worth it. Evander, however, decides that he’s not letting another person get hurt because he was stupid enough to care.
