The replica mill was built on Little Laurel River in 1938-39 by Work Progress Administration workers. The mill is typical of a pioneer Kentucky grist mill and is a replica the McHargue Mill on Robinson Creek about 10 miles to the south. The mill contains parts from the original McHargue Mill and is operational. The water wheel is flat, under the building.
