What is really needed when we find ourselves in times of trouble.
I arrived late in this event after (roughly) 6 hours of commute. As the tricycle approached the field, sky lanterns were already heading their way up. I just had to rush and overtake loads of people just to catch up with the next batch, and I did! Although I was not able to find the faces that I hoped to see while these lanterns lit up the sky (I just assumed, they too, were busy looking up), I just took the time to seize the moment. No camera could ever capture the aesthetic emotion that flooded that night. The Guinness world record (of 15,185 sky lanterns in 10min) was the icing on top of that cake (of inner peace). view the video here: www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=4788056065336 Read more about it here: globalnation.inquirer.net/75693/sky-lanterns-light-up-ilo...

A rather lovely Chinese style lantern made from pink or white gauze with a stencilled decoration of birds and flowers. This would be a great party decoration or for home decor. 14” size measures approximately Frame and wooden ends 14 inches / 36 cm Full hanging height including tassel and wire handle 29 inches / 74 cm Width 11 inches / 28 cm 12” size measures approximately Frame and wooden ends 12 inches / 31 cm Full hanging height including tassel and wire handle 24 inches / 61 cm Width 9.5 inches / 24 cm The frame is made of wire and the ends are wooden. These are well designed for posting as they fold down flat. As such, the wire parts are designed to move. Please don't be alarmed if the front movable wires come out of their housing at the top - they just pop right back in again and once they are hooked in place this absolutely does not affect the lanterns final position. As these are handmade, please be forgiving for any paint or glaze that may have wandered as shown in the photograph. These items are for decoration only. Please do not use with a bulb.
About Dream lantern is the result of research into curiosity objects of the late 18th to mid-19th centuries, such as magic lanterns. The four decorative shades are inspired by different elements in the famous life of escaped convict Mary Bryant. The light is completely mobile and can be hung as a pendant or used as a table lantern.
