Dear Laurel, Would you consider a blog article on bathroom storage for the small bathroom – where there is not room for a beautiful antique armoire for storage – but simply – double gasp – over the toilet storage? Can that ever look elegant? Thank you for considering, Anne You mean like this? […]

While it’s over for another season, I can’t wait till later this year when Season 3 will be released. As well as the crazy plot lines and characters and twists and turns (ohmyword so good), I love the characters’ fashion. I think my favourite characters’ style is Laurel Castillo. I love how many different print tops she has, and how she can rock the black-and-white look as well as a multitude of colours. I also really like her necklaces, and how she actually wears the same ones on occasion. I hate it some shows have their characters in literally something different every single episode. I’m sorry, that’s not realistic. Laurel wears her necklaces and some of her tops more than once throughout the show. I especially like the top in the top-row middle image, and her blue dress right in the middle. A lot of these images were found on Worn On TV, and Shop Your TV. These are great sites you can go to and find out where you can buy clothes that TV characters wore. Check it out! You can also find outfits just by Googling the Season and Episode, or checking out sites like Celebrity Style Guide which also has movies and TV shows listed. Which of these outfits do you like? Maybe not your style?

Dear Laurel My laundry room is rather large, and evocative of a British tack room. Well, except it has the dreadful “boob” light, still. I looked all over your blog and couldn’t find anything on laundry rooms. So, maybe a future post re: laundry rooms that aren’t all country cutsie? I also need lighting inspiration. […]

I love this kitchen design trend, but what is hugely important is that we do something that will not make our home difficult to sell, say in 20 years or so.
As women's history professor Laurel Thatcher Ulrich once famously put it, well-behaved women seldom make history — but if you put a group of badass women together, you've got history and then some. Groups of women have protested together since the…

I keep hearing from readers who are selling their houses themselves by promoting them on social media sites like , , and blogs.I have to admit I’ve always been dubious about whether that worked, especially in this tough real estate market. So when I heard from Laurel of SoPo Cottage, who told me she sold her […]

It may seem new or avant-garde even, but the new unkitchen (unfitted kitchen) that was detailed in last week’s kitchen design post is actually far more of a throwback to decades if not centuries ago. Preparation by Isidor Kaufmann For some of us, it’s a tough sell, going without a lot of upper cabinets for […]
