A developmental ‘leap’ is a period in a baby’s life where they begin to learn new tricks. These leaps are major milestones that can have an affect on their overall temperament & sleep. Babies cry during leaps for a good reason. Their development suddenly undergoes drastic changes. Just like the physical growth spurts children go through, a baby’s mental development occurs through a process of leaps. Neurological research has shown that such leaps occur at the same time as changes in the brain.
