A common problem with increasing the square footage of a house like this one is Knightsbridge is that you end up with little or no garden. The developer of this property saw the value of opening up the lounge and creating a light well. To remain in keeping with the high specification of the rest of the building we designed a very simple wall comprising of western red cedar cladding around a central stone column with a 1.5m wide blade of water. The water cascades in one beautiful sheet and disappears behind the planting. Bespoke powdercoated steel containers were planted up with grasses and Silver Birch trees. Ipe hardwood decking and matching steel containers planted up with Lavender were used on a small balcony at the front of the house. For more example of Fork's work go to www.forkgardendesign.com
