Vinyl wall decal: "Reading Corner". GREAT reading decal for a regular classroom reading corner, home reading nook, school library, or home library. Place this fun reading decal above some book baskets or book shelves with some comfy seating like beanbags, carpet or chairs and create the cutest reading area. Dimensions: 11.5Hx 15.5W 15Hx20W 20Hx27W Depending on the size of the decal it will come in more than one strip. Each decal is made of high quality, self-adhesive, matte-finish vinyl that gives a crisply painted look to whatever surface you choose to apply it to: walls, doors, windows, mirrors, wood, plexiglass, etc. Clean, dry, and flat surfaces work the best for our vinyl wall decals but they can be applied to textured walls and surfaces. The decal will simply reflect the texture of the surface and may take a little more time and love to make it stay put. Vinyl is removable, but not reusable. Every decal is made to order, so they can be made smaller or larger, if you would like your decal in a different size, please contact us and we can create a custom size for you.
I wanted to give you a little peek into our reading nook in the kid's nursery because I think it's just darling. A month or so ago I rearranged Stella and Alfie's room to make space for reading and playing, an intentional space with a big wool rug, a library cart full of books, soft…

So let us take a trip upstairs:) The upstairs of this house had been an apartment since the 70's. The entrance was at the bottom of the stairs onto the front porch. We removed the door and added an old salvaged window that matched the others in the house. When we removed the disgusto carpet on the stairs, we found these beautiful old green painted steps underneath!! Yeah, you can just imagine my face! Like I've said before, I swear I used to live here in another life:) So at the top of the stairs, we made a little library out of what was once a teeny tiny bedroom. We removed the wall where the staircase railing is now to open it up and add some much needed light into this little space:) This is where my green recliners ended up. I almost sold them! I couldn't figure out where to put them at first and I was in one of my- just get rid of it! times in my life. So happy the hubby talked some sense into me:) He's always the voice of reason when I'm having a fit of crazy. Speaking of crazy.... I clearly have a design book problem. I can't help it! I LOVE to look at pretty pictures!! Then there's my old green book problem.... Oh my goodness, just look at my 17 year old self in that frame! Tan, 110 pounds, and a perm.... And hubby's 'stache!! We just celebrated 27 years on March 6th:) Oh the memories..... Ok, back to what we're really talking about here. This is the other side of the tiny room, and this is where you can find my hubby on most nights. This shelf of books are totally him:) So because I know inquiring minds will want to know... The curtains and table are from World Market. I don't think they carry the table anymore:( The green recliners are from La Z Boy. The floor lamp is from Target. The table lamp is from Home Goods. The hubby made the wood shelves out of the wall we took down when we opened up the staircase:) Next week- the Master Bedroom and Bath. I promise:)

Hello, dear friends. Wednesday evening was filled with laughter, great food, and lively conversation at my book club. It was hosted by a lovely lady at a charming antique home that was adorned with black shutters and a red door. Quintessential New England. I just texted my #2 to warn her that she is going to get slammed with snow. She informed me last night that the stomach flu has been running rampant through her college. Part of the reason for this is that the school is not doling out excused absences for illness this week. Can you imagine a worse combo - a blizzard, the flu, and a bunch of crazy college students? Ugh. Believe it or not, Boston is at the edge of the storm this time. I'm hoping that we don't have much because we have a party invite for Saturday evening with some very fun people. If I have to buy a sled with Chili and Chowdah leading it to get me there, I will. Chowdah & Chili in training. I dedicate this post to all my blog buddies who are facing a mother of a storm this weekend. Find a cozy corner and read a good book. Or tune into a good movie or if you need some exercise, binge watch a series. Bundle up and enjoy your free time. Now if you have small children or whiny teens - been there, done that - you have my deepest sympathy. Here are a few of my favorite books that I recommend for a snowbound weekend. Houzz Amazon Just finished this book, and positively adored it. Buzzfeed Amazon One of my all time faves. Warning: do not read without tissues. Buzzfeed Amazon Sequel to Me Before You and I liked it just as much. Amazon This book has a great story centering around a political family and glamorous women, just like me. Freshome Amazon Another one of my all time faves. Two of my book club buddies feel the same way. Amazon Darling story. Tmagazine Amazon A great story about a most lovable curmudgeon. BH&G Amazon Loads of twists and turns in this mystery. Pinterest Amazon A sweet story centering around an enchanting southern couple dealing with love and sacrifice. It is beautifully written by a fellow blogger, Kristy Woodson Harvey, from Design Chic. Pinterest Amazon Read this one in two sittings. It's no wonder I'm chunky curvy. New England Home Amazon If you're crazy about dogs and appreciate a good love story, this book is for you. Betsy Speert If you don't feel like reading, I highly recommend this award- winning series. Amazon Any recommendations for our snowbound friends? Until next time...
