Desconocen que, cada noche, cuando avanzo cansada en busca de mi cama, me siento vacía. Sola. Sí, sola. Camino con los ojos cerrados en la oscuridad, solo ahí, en medio de lo invisible, encuentro refugio para mi espíritu. Enarco las cejas y lanzo un chirriante suspiro. Necesito comunicarme. Saber que soy significativa para alguien. Sí, importante. Eso no puede ser malo, ¿verdad? No quiero que sonrían al personaje. Deseo que busquen el corazón de mi persona. Mi alma, mi espíritu, mi esencia… eso que soy, en lo que me he convertido, no a mi aspecto, a mis ropajes… a quien represento ser. Deseo tener alguien a mi lado, alguien que desee alimentarme cuando mi mente sienta hambre, cuando mis sueños estén muertos, cuando mis ojos abiertos no ven la luz. Deseo alguien que, cuando la angustia visite mi alma, esté ahí conmigo entregándome su protección. No, no quiero ocultar mis momentos de tristeza. Quiero, que cuando una lágrima inerte recorra mi cara, alguien se dé cuenta de que solo soy un ser humano más, y con ternura acaricie la estela de sal y cubre mi desánimo con un abrazo protector. Sí, un abrazo de esos tan dulce e intenso, como el que se regala a un ser querido un instante antes de la despedida. Tú… sí tú. Tú que estás ahí frente a la pantalla, inmóvil, mirándome… ¿Alguna vez has sentido el peso de la soledad? ¿Alguna vez has percibido su aroma? ¿Alguna vez has escuchado el repiqueteo del nudillo de sus dedos sobre el vacío que alberga tu pecho? Sí, estoy segura que sabes a lo que me refiero. Ese instante que conoces tan bien, ese momento donde la tristeza inunda tu sentir, tu alma, tus pensamientos, y amordaza el cuerpo inmovilizándolo… y, poco a poco, se apodera de tu propia alegría. Ese minuto inacabable cuando dejas ver la sonrisa en tu cara, pero ocultas el desierto que llena tu corazón. Justo ese intervalo cuando deseas ser un texto abierto donde todos puedan leer tus debilidades y, sin embargo, sin darte cuenta, cierras las tapas del cuaderno con un candado invisible y… dejas el libro ahí, cerrado, hermético, lacrado, como si de un diario escrito por un adolescente se tratara. Llegas a casa, sonríes. Te sonríen. Todo está bien. Solo ven tu cuerpo, el envoltorio de tus acciones y pensamientos. No saben, no pueden, ni quieren ver más. No sabes bien cuál es el motivo, pero nadie llega a tu mundo interior. Y quieres que lleguen a ti, pero… pero no ayudas, no les indicas el camino. Y un día más, cae la noche, y con el pecho congestionado por la angustia, te sientes realmente sola, totalmente solo. Sola contigo misma. Solo con tus ideas. Sola con tus ilusiones. Solo con tus frustraciones. Sola. Solo. Piensas… ¿Esto es normal? ¿Lo vive así todo el mundo? Dejo de pensar en ti, ahora pensaré solamente en mí. ¿Es egoísmo o simplemente supervivencia? Me da igual. No me preocupa la respuesta. Ni me interesa. Me cruzo en la escalera con mi vecino. Lo miro detenidamente, parece feliz… ¿Cómo la hace? Se le ve lleno, pleno y sociable. No… no parece estar solo. Al llegar al trabajo observo a mi compañera de mesa. Lleva años sentada tras ese escritorio frente a mí y me doy cuenta de que no me conoce. En realidad, yo tampoco la conozco. Sonríe con naturalidad. Creo que es feliz… ¿Qué pensará de mí? ¿Se dará cuenta del monólogo que se debate en mi interior? La angustia llena mi pecho, pero ante su saludo sonrío con educación. Siempre lo hago, porque no deseo que perciba cómo me siento. No quiero que pueda leer en mi cuerpo y ver el desamparado reflejado en mis pupilas. Solo pensarlo me aterra y me enmudece. ¿Estas sensaciones… serán el precio de hacerse mayor? ¿de envejecer? Me encojo de hombros para quitarle importancia. Ya no juego con mis hijos, ellos han sobrepasado la adolescencia, siento que ya no me necesitan. Mi marido tiene su círculo de amigos, con ellos pasa las horas y, aparentemente se le ve feliz … ¿Qué pensamientos albergará su cabeza? ¿Qué sentirá en sus momentos de silencio? ¿Pensará como yo? Lo miro a los ojos, con ellos lanzo un amargo grito a mi desierto. Pero..., mi boca guarda un cruel mutismo. Él mira mis pupilas dilatadas por la ansiedad, pero no puede ver más allá de mi piel, no percibe lo que habita en mi interior. No es capaz de escuchar los gritos de mi silencio. Mañana comenzará un nuevo día. Al despertar, la compañía de la nostalgia cabalgará una jornada más sobre mis hombros. Querré que alguien se convierta en mi héroe o heroína salvadora y me rescate de las afiladas garras del aislamiento. A medida que pasen las horas, iré perdiendo la esperanza… y al llegar la noche, al acostarme, un día más me sentiré igualmente vacía. Dormiré abrazada a la almohada.
