"What up, everyone, it's ya girrrrl Superwoman."
What to do when lilies have finished flowering? Deadheading, pruning, cutting back, and mulching to help the plant prepare for the following season.
Since I saw Willie's picture from his iphone, I knew I had to go ASAP, the flowers probably passed prime time. This day was only day I could get out of work earlier, but the weather didn't cooperate. No clouds could be seen from Santa Cruz coast, satellite was clear whole day. I debated to myself weather I should start heading down to big sur or not ... Here is what I got that day. Sometimes we have to trust our own intuition. Side notes to James: you should have gone with me ... Happy Spring Break, everyone!

Flowers of lily of the valley give off refreshing scent faintly. I think, it's so nice, if I could share such scent with you on the net. Is it feasible??? I'd like to share with you this image instead of refreshing scent. Thank you for your viewing my photos with valuable comments throughout a week. I wish you all a happy weekend.

About The Artwork I was spellbound by the beguiling scene of this turtle among the attractive lillies of this mexican cenote. It was only later that I found out this beautiful scene has a more troubling backstory. Pictured here is a red eared slider turtle (Trachemys scripta elegans) and it was almost certainly a former pet. This species of turtle is the most traded in the world, with their popularity as pets carrying them across the globe. Sadly subsequent pet release has also led to them becoming one of the most invasive species in the world, causing a myriad of issues for the local ecosystems. Location: Cenote Aktun Ha, Quintana Roo, Mexico Highly Commended in The Wildlife Photographer of the Year 57th Edition, 'Wetlands - The Bigger Picture' category Highly Commended in ‘Submerged World’ category of Memorial Maria Luisa Edition 31. Print created on Hahnemühle FineArt Pearl 285gsm, an archival quality, cotton paper, with a high quality, thick, and slightly glossy finish. This painting is #8 in the "Koi Joy" series of 8 small koi paintings, inspired by the artist's love of koi ponds. The movement and whimsey of the koi as they swim under and around lilly pads evoke a joyful spirit. This original acrylic painting on canvas has a protective UV varnish and set within a black wood floater frame with a gold front edge. It is wired and ready to hang. less

The lakes of the Adirondacks were loaded with water lilies, something I am not use to paddling around. I tried for a different perspective by shooting underwater up through the lily pads as the sun rays shined through. ----- July 29th to August 2nd, my brother and I kayaked the first map of the the Northern Forest Canoe Trail, Old Forge to Long Lake in the Adirondacks of New York. It was an incredible adventure through a pond, 11 lakes, a boggy marsh and 1 river. We set up primitive camping each night in different locations, Seventh Lake, Raquette Lake, Forked Lake and Raquette River. I used two cameras through the journey, a waterproof point and shoot and my Nikon DSLR. Become a Fan on Facebook! PLEASE NOTE: All Rights are Reserved. www.davidrironsjrphotography.com I hope you are not getting tired of Mount Rainier shots? I have so many from the numerous trips I made this past August, that I want to share them. This year was fantastic for wildflowers with so many flowering at the same time! This was shot on that morning where the mountain was covered in fog and a list mist had been falling. All of the flowers were covered in dew drops, and there just seemed to be a sense of peace while walking the trails above Paradise. This is three exposures merged and tonemapped in Photomatix. I did a little "Dodge and Burn" in Photoshop as well as added a slight vignette in Lightroom. Thank you for your views, comments and faves! I appreciate them.
