With its light and airy neutral aesthetic, California casual interior design is a great way to bring chic coastal style to the living room and home in 2024
A highlight of the Lawrence Park neighbourhood in Toronto, this home’s classic exterior stands in contrast to the renovations undertaken inside. Purchased for its location and spacious layout, the busy young family wanted a fresh palette and modern detailing inside. The retuning of this central-hall plan starts at the foyer where a custom marble inlay floor treatment establishes a graphic and sleek tone. Traditional details were pared back, allowing for a clean and curated high-end aesthetic. Organic forms like the velvet sofa and slab coffee table in the living room contrast against the formal panelling and custom limestone cast fireplace. Carefully-selected decorative pieces continue the theme of contrasts, from the champagne-toned dining room lighting, to the double-height marble fireplace surround in the family room. The kitchen was also treated to an upgrade, with new cabinet fronts, countertops, and appliances throughout. This project has been shot for a home tour with House & Home.
