Hummingbirds flock to its blooms, and you will wish you had a much larger stand of plants when you see the spring display this little perennial is prepared to deliver! The blooms emerge before the leaves do, which really helps them stand out. Reminiscent of white blooms in their puffed-out appearance and tropically bright colors, they are profuse and surprisingly long-lasting, held in almost horizontal "clotheslines" along slender stems. So graceful and how the blooms arise on leafless stems really make them stand out! These perennials do best in shady parts of the garden and will brighten up any border or bed with their delicate blooms. Also use them in a container or basket to show off these bell like flowers on your porch or deck. Cut a few branches for the house, and let the rest light up the spring perennial border!

This 28x20 Saltbox plan reaches back in history to give you one amazing structure! The strong and simple saltbox style of house has been seen in this country since the 1650’s. It’s a design with two stories in front and one in back. The roof pitch is short and high in front, and long and low in back, creating a two-story structure on one side. This timber frame is fashioned with common trusses and collar ties, which simplifies the cutting and raising process. The plan is designed with a loft over half of the floor space. So you can have a ceiling on one side that soars to 19’-6” if you leave the collar ties exposed, giving you a great feeling of open space. Over the other half of the space, the second-floor system creates an area you can use for a bedroom, office or any number of uses. This 28x20 saltbox plan has 560 square feet on the ground floor and 280 square feet on the second floor, which gives you a total of 840 square feet to use as a small cabin, or spacious artist’s studio, or even a barn with hay loft! The plan set consists of 35 pages of thoroughly detailed drawings. We include a timber list and fastener schedule (and you can purchase the fasteners right here at Timber Frame HQ!) The drawings include fully dimensioned plans, elevations, and sections, as well as detailed cut drawings of every timber. We also include 3D renderings to help you visualize the finished product. And the plan set is formatted to 8 ½”x 11”, ready for instant download and printing from your home or neighborhood copy shop. Frequently Asked Questions Do you offer the whole kit? Yes we do!
