Common Loon

Not-so- Common Loon

Laying down on the nest to blend in. This means your too close or something has made the nesting loon nervous. In my case, even though I had a large lens and wasn't as close as this photo appears, the wind had drifted me too near the nest for the loon's comfort.

Have you ever heard a Common loon ??? Listen !!!

I can't get enough of these beautiful birds when I am fortunate to see them. This photo was taken from a canoe. Thank you for your visit and comments. They are very much appreciated.
