Hello dear visitors and welcome to my blog. A very special welcome to my new followers. Thank you so much for joining me on my crafty journey! It's been a while since I last posted. I have managed to get into my craft room once in a while but haven't been able to complete any of the projects I've been working on so I thought I would share another of the man cards I created a while ago. A fairly simple card made with two layers of some older Kaisercraft papers. For a bit of texture and interest I wrapped twine around the papers before adhering them to the card base. The two clocks were freebies from the net. I printed them out and mounted them on some cardboard. Both were slightly darkened and distressed by rubbing them with Distress Ink. A small piece of 2Crafty Chipboard underneath the cogs and wheels which were diecut from cardstock and then coloured with Versacolor stamp pads. The greeting was generated on my computer, cut out and mounted on a piece of chipboard and edged with a Sharpie pen. To give the cogs and wheels more substance and dimension I actually cut them out three times and then glued them together before colouring. Added some prills for extra interest. Those of you who know my work will know that I love my prills!! LOL!! Here is the inside .. .. and here, the full frontal!! I made this card for a very close friend of ours. Unfortunately, he is not well and I wasn't able to give it to him personally but I hope he liked it. I hope you liked this card. I have a few more of these to share with you and I hope to be posting them soon, along with another project I am close to finishing. Thank you so much for your visit and a special thank you to those who left me such lovely comments on my last post. They are very much appreciated. Have a wonderful day!! Take care and God Bless.

A fun unique technique of creating an aged metal look using embossing folder and acrylic ink. Created a masculine birthday card.
Hey friends, it's almost time to honor Dad for everything he has done for us, all the times he's been there and for just bein' Dad. Well, today I wanted to share a fun card that I made for my Dad using Rinea's Foiled Papers in Ruby, Ebony, Silver and a touch of Gold. There are several "tool" dies on the market so be sure to check them all out to see which tools suit your needs. Step 1 - Cut a sheet of Silver/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper 4 1/2" x 5 3/4". Step 2 - Emboss this panel using a Diamond Plate embossing folder. Step 3 - Trim the panel to 4" x 5 1/4" and mount on a black card blank. Step 4 - Cut a piece of the Ruby/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper 3" x 4" and (4) strips 1/2" x 2 5/8" for drawers. Step 5 - Run the 3x4" piece through a Xyron and affix to a piece of cardstock to add some bulk. Step 6 - Adhere the 1/2" strips to the large rectangle approximately 1/4" apart using double stick foam tape. This will make the drawers look like they are slightly open. Step 7 - Cut four slivers of Silver/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper 1/8" x 2 5/8" and adhere to the tops of each drawer. Step 8 - Hand cut or punch out two little circles from the Ebony/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper. Affix them to the bottom of the toolbox. Step 9 - Affix the toolbox to the card using double stick foam tape. Step 10 - Die cut the set of tools twice, once from Silver/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper and once from Ebony/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper. Step 11 - Where appropriate, trim the "handles" from the black die cuts and glue them to the silver tools. I used a bit of gold behind the measuring tape for a bit of contrast. Step 12 - Glue the tools in the drawers, on top of the toolbox and hanging off the side as desired. Supplies:Rinea Foiled Papers - Ruby/Gold Glossy; Ebony/Gold Glossy; Silver/Gold Glossy Sizzix - Diamond Plate Embossing Folder Posh Paper Supplies - Tools Metal Die Cutter Double Stick Foam Tape Cardstock - White, Black

It's time for a new Just Add Ink challenge & Jan has set us a well timed challenge to create a card for males, since it's Father's Day on September 6th in Australia. I ran a masculine card class last weekend too so I combined the challenge with my class card. I do love a man in a suit (whether it's my own darling man, James Bond, or maybe even a dressed up Mr Cumberbatch or the guys from Suits), so I created this formal / tuxedo type suit card. It was very popular with my class lovelies so hope you like it too. My card was adapted from this awesome card & tutorial by Sarah Jane Rae, which I pinned a while ago. I adapted her idea to make a smaller card using a standard half A4 sheet to fit a regular C6 envelope (the card front is 10 x 14.8cm or approx 4 x 6 inches). Sarah's card front was about double this size. I used the envelope punch board to make my bow tie). I used some White Perfect Accent dots for the shirt buttons. I also added a belly band around the front to add a bit more detail & space for a sentiment - birthday & Father's Day versions. The birthday sentiment is from Birthday Blossoms & I also used White Perfect Accents dots coloured with a black sharpie marker - easy! You can see the other sentiment in this pic: I really liked how Sarah attached the shirt front to one side of the jacket so I did this too. This larger picture shows more detail. The card opens up to show a large space for your message. I stamped the birthday version with the fantastic sentiment from Happy Birthday Everyone, a must-have stampin' rewards only stamp set from the annual catalogue. The ' to a wonderful man' sentiment is from this set too. I was hoping to share my instructions to make my card in this post but it's taken much longer to prepare than I expected, so I'll post them separately - hopefully sometime tomorrow - & edit this post to include the instructions link too. Edited 21 August, 2pm Re-edited 23 August 7pm SUIT CARD TEMPLATES & BOW TIE TUTORIAL IS HERE! Please refer to Sarah Jane's suit card tutorial for instructions to make a large suit card. Use the measurements in my templates to reduce size to my standard size card version (14.8 x 10cm or 6 x 4 inch front) with an envelope punch board bow tie. If you have questions or need more info about making my smaller version, please leave me a comment including your e-mail addy & I'll be happy to help. VIEW & DOWNLOAD MY SUIT-TUXEDO TEMPLATES & BOW TIE TUTORIAL PDF. Note: please choose the download option (arrow & line) to download. Do not choose 'share' as this just sends me an e-mail. Here are pics from the tute so you can see what's included, but don't save them as they're just small versions of the actual doc. Thanks for visiting & I hope you like my card. Please check out all the Just Add Ink fab team's creations here & try the challenge too - you can never have too many masculine card ideas. Please leave some comment love & pin the card if you like my card. Here's a combined pinnable image if you do. Back soon! As much as I've been enjoying all the lovely pink and floral paper collections, I decided it was time to use a masculine 6x6 paper pad. It was challenging finding one that wasn't kiddish and would still work well for the cards I need. I found the Hey Mister collection from My Mind's Eye and
