Marilyn Monroe
COSTUME WAREHOUSE: Marilyn Monroe's (Kay Weston) lavish floor-length, vivid yellow and red silk gown was worn in the final scene from "River of No Return" (1954) film. A bit of trivia: it was originally designed by costumier Helen Rose for Betty Grable for the 1943 Fox film "Coney Island". Ten years later the dress was repurposed as a saloon dress by William Travilla – by adding contrasting red of delicate ruffles and detail work with the addition of the gold bow on the backside of the gown. 💋.
