The Crafty Collaborations Team is comprised of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in several collaborative projects, including Blog Hops, like this one to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our Goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.Today features the monthly Share It Sunday projects where the team shares any project that have been working on. I recently received the Merry Melody 3D embossing folder and decided to play with it. I have seen a few White on White cards and really like how they look. I decided to give it a try. I did end up adding the Red designer paper to help pop it a bit, but I think the card turned out very elegant. This is one that I will definitely make more of to send to family & friends for the holidays. Hi Stampers! Welcome to another addition of TINSEL TIME TUESDAY! Today I have two versions of the same Christmas card; one in gold and one in silver. I used a combination of dry embossing and heat embossing along with ink and a blending brush to achieve an antiqued look. My “antiqued” look can also be described as aged, distressed, shabby chic, etc. The card is made up of several bits and pieces, and does take a little longer to make than most cards, but if you have someone in your life who enjoys receiving cards in this style, it is worth the extra time. Let’s take a look at the card in both, the gold and silver versions: I used the FOR UNTO US stamp set to create the card. This stamp set was introduced in last year’s Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog, and is a “returning favorite” in the current Stampin’ Up! July-December 2021 Mini Catalog. This stamp set contains phrases from Christmas carols as well as sentiments that work well for inside cards. Here is a look at the stamp set: FOR UNTO US HERE IS HOW I MADE THE CARD: SUPPLIES FOR THE GOLD CARD * Crumb Cake card base - 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4” plus a scrap of Crumb Cake cardstock to die cut the mat for the greeting. * Basic White cardstock - one piece cut at 5” x 3 3/4”, one piece cut at 4 3/4” x 3 1/2”, and a piece of scrap for the greeting. * Brushed Metallic cardstock- gold, at least 5 1/4” x 4” * Vellum scrap * Crumb Cake ink, Versa Mark, gold embossing powder * Blending brush * Heat tool * Metallic Pearls - 3 in gold * Gold shimmer ribbon - 18 - 20 inches * Stampin’ Seal (or adhesive of choice) and dimensionals * Dies - Stitched Rectangles Dies, the one that cuts a 5” x 3 3/4” rectangle and the one two sizes smaller (the smaller die is optional). Die from the Tasteful Labels Dies, Layering Circles Die that measures 2 5/8” diameter, and the “berry” and leaf dies from the Christmas Trimmings Dies. * Merry Melody 3-D embossing folder. ASSEMBLING THE CARD * Use the embossing folder and emboss the 4 3/4” x 3 1/2” piece of Basic White cardstock. * Use the Stitched Rectangles Dies to cut a frame from the gold cardstock, then die cut the 3 berry stems from the center piece. (OPTIONS - Save the center piece for another project and cut the berry stems from scraps of the same cardstock. OR Do not use the smaller of the rectangle dies an Simply cut the images from the center area of the cardstock.) * Die cut 3 of the leaves images from the vellum. * Die cut the Crumb Cake circle. * Use the Tasteful labels die and cut the label for the greeting. (OPTION - Heat emboss the greeting, then die cut it.) * Use Versa Mark to stamp the greeting on the Basic White die cut label, sprinkle with the gold embossing powder, and heat set. * With a very light touch, brush the Versa Mark over the musical notes on the dry embossed cardstock. Sprinkle with gold embossing powder, brush off some excess. It is okay for the embossing powder to be a bit hit and miss. Set with heat tool. (SEE VIDEO - page down to view the video demonstration of this process.) *Use the blending brush and Crumb Cake ink to add a touch of “antiquing” (color) to the background piece (embossed cardstock); darker along the outer edges, and lighter toward the center. * Use the blending brush and Crumb Cake ink to “antique” the greeting - just as for the background piece. * “Antique” the edges of the 5” x 3 3/4” Basic White cardstock. * Stamp the greeting for the inside on the “antiqued” cardstock. * Adhere the panel to the inside of the card base. * “Antique” the dies on the card base front. * Adhere the focal panel to the gold mat. Wrap the gold ribbon around the entire panel and tie in a loose bow. Once the greeting is in place the bow will be retired. * Adhere the gold berry and vellum leaves die cuts to the back side of the greeting. Add dimensionals to the back of the greeting and place it on the Crumb Cake mat. Add dimensionals to the mat. Do not remove the backings. * Place the greeting piece on the focal panel. It should be centered and to the right side of the focal panel. The greeting should extend just slightly over the edge of the focal panel. * Adjust the ribbon as needed and re-tie. * Remove the backings from the dimensionals, and put the greeting in place. * Add the metallic pearls to the greeting panel. * Adhere the focal panel to the card base. SUPPLY LIST FOR SILVER CARD ALL SUPPLIES, CUTTING MEASUREMENTS, & ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS ARE THE SAME AS FOR THE GOLD CARD WITH THE FOLLOWING SUBSTITUTIONS: * Card base & cardstock - same as for the gold version, but substitute Smoky Slate for the Crumb Cake, and substitute silver foil (mirrored finish) for the gold brushed metallic cardstock. * Use Smoky Slate ink instead of Crumb Cake and silver embossing powder instead of gold. * Use the silver metallic pearls instead of the gold. * Instead of gold shimmer ribbon use the silver metallic mesh ribbon found in the Stampin’ Up!®️ Annual Catalog. WOW- I love the way this card turned out! This is a totally Susie card! I used the Boughs of Holly DSP. This might end up being one of my upcoming Annual Holiday Extravaganza class projects. I embossed the Real Red card stock using the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder. Notice how I ripped & rolled a little of card stock and added some Boughs of Holly (poinsettia)DSP behind it. Isn't this just stunning! Here are the supplies & measurements. stamp set: 'Leaves of Holly' card stock: Garden Green- 4 1/4 x 11"- score at 5 1/2" & fold in half for card base Garden Green- 1/2 x 4" Real Red- 4 x 5 1/4"- emboss with Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder Basic White- 4 1/4" strip- die cut label for greeting Basic White- 4 x 5 1/4"- for inside of card designer paper: Bough of Holly- 2 x 3" ink: Real Red other: Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine; Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder; Holly Berry Dies; Garden Green 3/8" Ribbon (combo pack with Real Red); Red Rhinestones; Glue dots; Dimensionals I hope you have a SPECIAL Saturday! This new Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder creates such a beautiful impression. The catalog doesn’t do it justice. I embossed a piece of the new Gold Shimmer Vellum and love how it turned out.
I have been so very excited to share these gorgeous Stampin' Up! Christmas Season stamps in person with my customers in some recent classes and saved a few card sets for a VIDEO. I cased this card from Cheri Stojkovic I stamped the scene using the stamp set onto Kraft 6x6 Paper, any of the amazing stamps in the set will work. I stepped it up by embossing the stamped piece with the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder. The Christmas To Remember Stamp set sentiment is stamped on a Seasonal Label Die cut. I also cut a piece of the Gold & Rose Gold Metallic Paper that I cut in half and let peek out the ends. I finished with a scattering off the stunning but sadly retiring Wonderful Gems. MERRY CHRISTMAS Wishing you Merry Christmas from the Caroling Mice and myself. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and enjoy celebrating it with your family and friends. May the peace of the Savior be with you. I would also like to thank everyone who has supported my business this year. I appreciate the faith
I have given myself a challenge to just up a who lot of my Stampin' Up! Magenta Madness card stock as I found a full packet and it worked perfectly in a non traditional colour scheme with Coastal Cabana and Gray Granite. I shared this in Recent Classes, Team Meeting and in a Video. I showcased the Delicate Baubles Dies with the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder. I made the Merry and Bright die a sticker using the Adhesive Sheets. Both solid dies cuts are given dimension using Blending Brushes. I added these to a Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder adding Silver Foil strings that I also made into stickers. A few Rhinestones to add the further illusion of dimension. I thought I was done with Christmas cards, but no...I needed a few more. So I have one more Merry Monday for you, and I love these cards! But to get there: Who else has a craft desk that looks like this? I don't know how I was even able to work in here! But somehow the chaos was semi-controlled, and I ended up with some beautiful cards. Wanna see? First I wanted to create a "not Christmas" card. A friend of ours does not celebrate the holidays, but I always like to remember her with a card. From our home to yours...of course I needed to emboss little houses on the card front! The Soft Succulent cardstock is subtle, not really Christmas-y, yet adheres to the season (for me!). I used a piece of designer paper from the Fitting Florets pack, and bordered it with some Evening Evergreen cut with the Basic Borders dies. And wrapped it all up with some Evening Evergreen ribbon. Love! But then, I got an idea: Using basically the same layout but entirely different look! I have not shown the Boughs of Holly designer paper anywhere near enough love this season, so I cut a 2" x 5-1/4" piece for the side of the card. But having the pretty paper on a plain background just didn't seem right, so I embossed another piece of Evening Evergreen with the Merry Melody embossing folder. Soft Succulent cut with the Deckled Rectangles dies, stamped in Evening Evergreen and mounted on Basic White cut with the Scalloped Contours dies was perfect! And look at those tiny poinsettia flowers! I used flowers from the Merriest Frames dies, stacked them atop each other with a retired Holiday Rhinestone in the center. The little leaves were hand-snipped. So cute! So that's it! The end. Fini. I'm done! Well... not entirely! Just done with holiday cards. But I'll be back this week with more sneak peeks from the upcoming January - April 2023 Mini catalog as well as some samples with new Sale-a-Bration stamps. So c'mon back for more... Create this music themed sticky note pad using the Zany Zoo Stamp Set & Dies and Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder from Stampin' Up!
I actually started with a version of this that I saw online.. It "morphed" into something different, but I LOVE it. Haven't you had that happen to you, too!! The background is a "wash" of ink on watercolor paper, that is then run through the Merry Melody 3D embossing folder. The angel is embossing in gold, watercolored with ink, and then fussy cut. Again, this is GORGEOUS in person! Measurements: Petal Pink: 1/2 sheet Gold Foil: 4" x 5 1/4" (with the center cut out) Watercolor Paper: 3 3/4" x 5" Shimmery White: 2 1/2" x 4 1/4", scrap To Make This Card: Cut center out from Gold Foil. (I use a rectangle die these days, but you can also cut it out with a Paper Trimmer.) Why have all that good, gorgeous paper go to waste under a layer! Then, cut a small frame from the Ornate Frames from the piece you removed! Mount this to a folded Petal Pink base. Take the largest Watercolor Brush, and saturate the watercolor paper. Now, take a smaller watercolor brush and pick up some Petal Pink ink from the lid of the ink pad. If you can't squish enough ink in the lid, use a little reinker. And, brush over a portion of the watercolor paper. Then, add some Calypso Coral ink. Continue adding color, until you have a nice all-over watercolor look, in the intensity you would like. Set aside to dry, while you work on the "angel". Emboss the "angel" in gold embossing powder, onto strip of white. Watercolor a base color in Petal Pink, first, the darken "creases" of her dress with Calypso Coral. Her "hair" is Lt So Saffron Blend, the bird is Pool Party Blend. Now, fussy cut her out. Go back to watercolor paper and finish drying with Heat Tool, if necessary. Then, run through Merry Melody 3D embossing fold. It's ok if it's a little damp. Remember we used to spritz the 3D folders! If necessary, finish drying. Attach to card. You will want to add adhesive to the entire edge. Stamp and emboss sentiment in gold, and cut out with small Ornate Frame. Split the Gold Foil frame and place behind. Arrange angel and sentiment. Attach "angel" to card with Dimensionals. I attached the sentiment flat. Finish with scattered Champagne Rhinestones, and a bow of gold trimmed Petal Pink ribbon (ret). Fold Pool Party card in half. Run front through new Merry Melody 3D embossing folder. Cut ornate frame from White piece. I used the Thick Basic White so my die cut better! Emboss "angel" in Silver Embossing Powder. (she just fits!) "Watercolor" dress with Pool Party Ink and water painter. Her "hair" is Lt So Saffron Blend, and the "bird" is Dk Pool Party blend. Attach to card front with Dimensionals. Finish with bow in Pool Party sheer ribbon and scattered Rhinestones.
