As we grow and mature, we gradually get impregnated with the expanding knowledge of the universe and its wisdom yet, by and large, without any lasting strength to carry it or nourish it. Regardless of how fast or how well we may develop within the restrains of the mankind’s placenta, unless we are born in spirit, our growth will remain stunted, and we will stay trapped in immaturity.

Chicago-based artist Rosemary Holliday Hall envisions transformation through Encyclia Imagosis, a sculptural series that brings the physical processes of insect metamorphosis to a human scale.
