Today I am sharing Emma Fae's Daisy Garden themed 1st birthday party! We had so much fun putting together her 1st Daisy Garden birthday party!...
Lucy Marie Cipoletti's 1st Birthday Party was a secret bunny garden that took place in our backyard. Surrounded by our family, we celebrated!
We had our daughters 1st birthday party and it was sooo much fun! She loves the show In The Night Garden (ITNG) and the character "Upsy Daisy" from the show, so we had a Upsy Daisy themed party for her. However, the party decorations were very limited! So I went on a mission to create my own and what a great way to let my imagination go crazy! Bunting/Preyer Flags I couldn't find any ITNG or Upsy Daisy material anywhere, so I bought some Size 5 PJ's of EBay for $1.50 and cut them up! Hubby thought I was crazy..... I used some scrap bright fushia pink cotton for the backing and ended up with over 30 flags! Rolled hemmed the edges and done! They looked great and I can't wait to decorate her room with them! Milestone Daisy's I bought a few sheets of orange and pink cardboard and cut out some large daisy's. On one side I had pictures of the ITNG characters and the other side I put photo's of my daughters milestones throughout her first year. I also used my scrapbooking scraps for some different paper and to write a brief description of her milestone. I'm going to put the daisy's in a scrapbook and with a few more photo's and she has her first year photobook done! Name Banner While I was cutting out a heap of Daisy's I kept some to make a Name Banner "1 TALIA 1". I glittered some letters for her name with pink glitter and used orange Rafia to tie them together. I have hung them in her room and she loves waking up looking at them. Daisy Tags I printed a heap of pictures of each of the characters and used them for various decorations. I glued the small round pictures (the size of Cupcake toppers) to the left over orange and pink card and made heaps of circle tags. I glued these to the end of Kebab sticks and we had ITNG Salad & Fruit kebabs, there were a hit with the kidlets. I also did some kebab sticks with daisys on and put them around the garden and the entry way. You can glue the little round cardboard pictures to anything, for example, straws, plastic cups, game prizes, name tags, champagne & wine labels, wine glasses tags, kebab sticks, cake decorations, lolly-pop sticks, party hats, party blowers, favour and lolly bags, blue tack some on the floor to create a path out to the garden (the kids loved looking at these on the floor)... Even make some Daisy toothpicks with a flower hole punch using the scrap cardboard......see pictures below for some idea's. Ninky Nonk Juice Every ITNG party needs some Ninky Nonk Juice! Download a picture from the internet and write "Ninky Nonk Juice" and stick this to some fruit punch and eski's! Welcome Sign Print out a picture of your childs favourite ITNG characher and write "Welcome to Talia's 1st Birthday party!" ITNG Games Here are a few game idea's. You can "Pin the blanket to Iggle Piggle" (we ran out of time to play this one). I cut a heap of red material into squares and photocopied a picture of Iggle Piggle onto A3. I printed out some colouring in "Upsy Daisy & Iggle Piggle Door Hangers" and left them for the kids to colour in, they loved it! You can get this from the BBC website. I gave the kids their own tag each with a different character and their name on the other side, they then had to find their present with their ITNG character on it, it kept them busy for a while. Here are a few idea's for a kids party and most of them don't need any sewing! You can also apply these to any party theme, as you can get so many pictures from the internet now! I hope I continue to do this for all my kids future birthdays party's! It was so much fun and they create the perfect party atmosphere. My husband thought I went a bit crazy, but they only have birthday party's once a year, so why not! Enjoy! Lee-Anne

Celebrating your child's Birthday is a time-honoured ritual. They acknowledge the day they choose to bless this Earth and make the world a brighter place with their unique shine. It's a time for reflection on growth, celebration joy, and a beautiful window for magical family traditions that will leave lasting memories. Yet today, many of us find that the birthday celebration cannot be what we hope for, not meeting our expectations as parents. Either pass by with a quick happy birthday song or an overwhelming extravaganza event where we are not even present with our children. We were inspired to create something more meaningful for Ottilie's first Birthday, to honour her first leap around the sun in a simple Steiner approach. Simple Birthday Traditions What simple Birthday traditions from childhood have you continued with your children? Every year on our Birthday, we would always have a birthday breakfast. So with little Ottilie, we had breakfast on the beach to start a simple family tradition, honouring this day as a special day. 6 Simple Birthday traditions to do with your child: The Waldorf birthday ring. We added a new wooden decoration to symbolize something special about the child's year and added as many bee-waxed candles as the child's age. When your child is asleep, decorate their room with balloons for when they wake. Have a family birthday crown they wear all day to make them feel like the King or Queen they are. Family Birthday dinner, cooking their favourite meal and tying balloons to the birthday child's chair or highchair. Have a birthday. I am affirmation that represents your child or the energy they would like for their new age! Bake the same birthday cake recipe each year as the family birthday cake but decorate how the child chooses. The Birthday Song Another birthday tradition our family has started is singing the birthday song on the Birthday rather than just the standard happy Birthday.

In this post, I talk about how I set up this Korean first birthday party table for my son’s doljanchi. It was so fun, and I can’t wait to decorate for more events in the future!
I haven't been much into blogging these past few months. Some of it is I no longer have the passion like I used to and the other part is it really turns me off to constantly read about people who are only into blogging to promote themselves, feel the need to drive home how well off they are financially, being decked out in all designer wear, or highlighting their homes to the point where you feel live in a shack when I know I don't. You know what I mean. So, needless to say I have being cleaning up my reader list and my instagram feed. I maybe log onto reading blogs once a week, if that. Life is too short to let others make you feel bad about yourself so I have just been focusing on who and what makes me happy. So proud of my baby girl for having such a great year in preschool. She can count to 100, knows several site words such as then, is, and, a, my, knows several prayers (she attends a Catholic preschool) and she loves to read. She decided the other day to do a little outside reading and have a tea party for herself. Those with little girls I highly recommend Fancy Nancy books. They are a big hit in our home. We are still doing gymnastics and dance each week and are looking forward to Elle's first dance recital in June. She loves to twirl but now that it is spring it means we kicked off our 2nd season of soccer! Wow, has she ever changed in one year when it came to soccer. The girl actually ran and kicked the ball around the field the other night vs last year when all she wanted to do was play in the dirt pile and drink her water. Mastering an important life skill. She likes to "iron" with me. Elle and I attended a spring princess tea party a few weeks ago at the local high school. Princesses are Elle's world with Elsa and Ariel being her favorites. Chris and I are so excited for Dec where we will be spending 5 days at Walt Disney World for Elle's 5th Birthday! But, sshhh it's a surprise! I still can't believe we are going! I always dreamed of going to DW as a child but my mom was too sick and that is all I wanted to do before she passed. So, this trip is going to be huge for me knowing I get to make this memory with my daughter. My little shopping buddy with her new shoes! She had to wear them out of the store. Such a girl. Just a princess in the woods. Our friends told us about a beautiful hiking/ nature trail. Was amazing and the best part it is only 15 mins from our house. We started our gorgeous hike with a picnic and then enjoyed the peace of rushing water. So many water falls along the way. There is even a little swimming hole where some kids were swimming. Elle did awesome as we hiked 3+miles. Even though fall is my favorite season I am happy spring is here. It has been fun being able to play outside again, meet up with friends at the park, eating dinner outside, and getting in some long afternoon walks after work, and looking forward to my favorite holiday, Easter.
