Wonderful classic and intricate World War II era Miriam Haskell earrings and brooch. Each piece is covered with large round cut rose montee rhinestones. The rhinestones are surrounded by layers of gold gilt metal stamped with leaves and petals, all wired to filigree. The design makes each piece appear like a floral grouping. The earrings have clip backs. The brooch closes with a clasp. All are in good working order. The earrings clasps are tight. Miriam Haskell's stamp is on each piece. This set is in excellent condition with no greening or verdigris. It does not appear these pieces were worn very often. The brooch measures 2" X 2 1/4" Each earring is 1" X 1 1/4' Miriam Haskell jewelry is very collectible. She opened her shop in New York in the 1930s. Her jewelry was worn by most socialites and movie stars for decades. This is a very good piece displaying both her classic tapestry work and the baroque pearl which was the center of many of her designs. I am posting a collection of jewelry from one woman who lived near the old Country Club area of Denver. Her sandstone mansion is very near the Molly Brown Mansion and Millionaires Row where silver barons of the 1800s built their mansions. She had an extensive collection of jewelry from many periods. I wonder if many were gifts or if she simply loved jewelry and collected it for herself. This lady lived an sophisticated life, but became reserved in her later years. I can imagine her in her elegant home rearranging her jewels and her memories through the passing years. Please email me any questions! ************We ship internationally!
