About José Salvaggio, pedal artist from France, at Galerie Bonnard! The French artist José Salvaggio finds his subject in the French world around him. You do not hear him complaining about the circumstances. It is precisely these circumstances that he wants to show in the painting he is making, again or again: always painter-weather! Characteristic of the work of the Frenchman is the smooth test. Impressionist paintings are a feast of color and recognition. Color of the seasons and recognition of the French country. For me it was very special to be able to see the works in real life. For years I follow this virtuoso Frenchman whose films in which he shows how he makes the paintings, go all over the world. His clear and quick choices ensure a special division of areas in which he only unfailingly reflects the atmosphere of the environment. Then the keys he places over the entire canvas are never without significance. This makes the paintings a very lively whole where you are completely absorbed. Depth, atmosphere, recognition, color, even warmth makes the artist tangible. It is special to be able to represent the artist with these beautiful paintings, as the only gallery in the Netherlands.

They were the inner city youth who, fuelled by punk spirit, anarchist philosophy and a hate of Margaret Thatcher, decided to shun the trappings of the modern world for a life of nomadic freedom.

There have been raids and robberies on galleries, museums and private states for centuries. The aim? To steal timeless masterpieces worth thousands, if not millions. Often unsellable, the thieves range from avid art enthusiasts to opportunists. It has been reported that raids on British galleries of art works and antiques total up to about £500m each year – globally this has been approximated up to £6 billion. There have been many famous art heists over the centuries, but what about this century? Here we explore ten of the most infamous, most audacious, and highest valuing art heists of the 21st

Dazzling debut novels, searing polemics, the history of humanity and trailblazing memoirs ... Read our pick of the best books since 2000
As I was a little boy, I liked to watch old pictures of my relatives at my grandparents' house. Scrolling all that dusty photo paper - there was something mystical and spiritual in that. Looking into the eyes of my ancestors was so surreal. I knew that they have lived decades ago, but I was still hard to perceive the archived depiction of a moment. A moment which had happened long time ago, but that seemed to happen right now. Just frozen. Frozen emotions and depicted souls.

When Snøhetta was commissioned to design a new headquarters for Le Monde Group on a site that couldn't support a heavy structure at its center due to underground rail lines, the firm responded with a striking building that's defined by a large arch.
