I came across this lovely project today by photographer Irina Werning. She says of it: "I love old photos. I admit being a nosey photographer. As soon as I step into someone else’s house, I start sniffing for them. Most of us are fascinated by their retro look but to me, it’s imagining how people would feel and look like if they were to reenact them today... A few months ago, I decided to actually do this. So, with my camera, I started inviting people to go back to their future." I just think it's such a good idea, and the photos look amazing.

A wonderful way to trim figures is to stay active. My biggest suggestion is to WALK! Park your car a little farther away. Take the stairs. Keep your booty moving because every stride counts and I'm not talking about the gum. So you've got your forward motion going, how do you keep your look glowing?

self portrait View a short film about the wonderful Vivian Maier, the Chicago nanny who moonlighted as a photographer - or, as many in the photo world are now saying - the photographer who moonlighted as a nanny. A new book featuring her photographs, Vivian Maier: Out of the Shadows, was released in September. I ordered my copy today! I'm really inspired by her work and moved by the most recent images that have been discovered and published in the book. James Estrin, NYT Lens Senior Editor, calls the most recent work that's surfaced the most compelling yet. Her story and the work she made just keeps getting more and more fascinating. If you'd like to read about her, check out this article from Mother Jones or read my previous posts about her (check the archive list to the right.) Her work just blows me away.
