Hello Fellow Teacher, Students continue to ask for extra credit to replace missing work. Here are four pages with prompts for essays, body paragraphs, presentations, and projects that require students to think critically while demonstrating proficiency in the ELA standards: reading, writing, speaking & listening, and language. My school offers a significant number of opportunities for students to improve grades while learning the content: office hours, a monthly Saturday session, lunch, before school and after school tutoring, and NHS students providing assistance. These opportunities are advertised on our school news and messages in our LMS; Messages also go home to parents; however, some students pass on these opportunities until they realize they have really dug a hole for themselves. Use these pages for your extra credit opportunities. You don’t have to create anything, and students will have to put in the effort to make up missing work and/or low skills. Some of these items require students to create and/or present a presentation using Google Slides, PowerPoint, or Canva. These four documents include projects, esssays and body paragraphs in MLA format, citing contextual evidence, and critical thinking. There is nothing for you to figure out. Use one each quarter or as you see fit throughout the year or years. Two of the one-page handouts say this for the directions: Below are ten prompts. For this extra credit opportunity, you will have five days to answer ALL TEN questions. EACH response must be in body paragraph format AND MLA format. Number each paragraph. The amount of extra credit you earn will be based on how well you responded to each prompt. Partial responses will not be accepted. I am not proofreading your responses before you submit them. At this point in the school year, you should know how to write MLA-formatted body paragraphs with two pieces of evidence. You also know where to find the notes and examples in the event you misplaced them.Since thits is extra credit, the deadline is firm. There are ten different prompts on each page. The next one-page document says this: Below are four prompts. For this extra credit opportunity, you will have five days to answer TWO questions. Both essays must be follow essay format. This includes using correctly formatted body paragraphs AND MLA format for citing contextual evidence and final version. The amount of extra credit you earn will be based on how well you responded to each prompt. Partial responses will not be accepted. I am not proofreading your responses before you submit them. At this point in the school year, you should know how to write MLA-formatted body paragraphs with two pieces of evidence. You also know where to find the notes and examples in the event you misplaced them. Since thits is extra credit, the deadline is firm. The final one-page handout says this for the directions: Below are six project ideas. For this extra credit opportunity, you will have five days to complete three of them. Use PowerPoint, Canva, or Google Slides. Use legible fonts, light backgrounds, and visuals to help the audience understand your presentation. You will present ONE of the projects to your class. The amount of extra credit you earn will be based on how well you responded to the three prompts you selected as well as the presentation you give in class about one of the projects. Partial responses will not be accepted. I am not proofreading your projects before you submit them. At this point in the school year, you should know how develop your ideas. You also know where to find the notes and examples in the event you misplaced them. Since thits is extra credit, the deadline is firm. If you purchase this, please come back and leaver a review. Thank you, Michele
