Ludwigia sedioides (Mosaic Flower) is an emergent aquatic perennial forming attractive rosettes, 3-6 in. wide (7-15 cm), of red and green diamond-shaped leaves. Reminiscent of mosaics, they float on the water surface, contracting at night and spreading out again during daylight hours. The edges of central and older leaves turn bright red when the plant is grown under bright light. In summer, the plant boasts cup-shaped bright yellow flowers, 2 in. across (5 cm), in the leaf axils.
