About Beth Munro’s original paintings, whether composed of still life, landscape, or abstract forms, focus on pattern, color, and texture. Munro is inspired by everything from the impressionist artworks of Cezanne and abstract paintings of Willem de Kooning to the fauvist paper cut-outs of Matisse and historical quilts made by the women of Gee’s Bend in Alabama. Composed of many materials such as tissue paper and woodblock prints, her subtly layered artworks seem to be cut and reassembled together. This one-of-a-kind 36 inch square original artwork is an abstract composition layered with many hues of acrylic paint on canvas. It is stretched, wired, and ready to hang.
