Unused Shimidah Design I did for 'Godzilla vs Kong'. Shimidah was described as a large creature, partially submerged in sand. It just moves and rises out of the sand reacting to something and then settles back in. The mouth had to be big enough that it can grab several humans at once. I tried to come up with different ways of how this creature could trap its prey and explored the idea of a mouth that consisted of six moving parts. That way Shimidah was able to open its mouth much wider, like a carnivorous plant. For this rendering I tried to show that the body of this creature is adjusted to its environment in sand and is therefore completely helpless on the surface. I illustrated Shimidah lying on its side while it’s franticly trying to dig itself back underground. The Daemon, which is derived from the term Daimon (Ancient Greek: δαίμων ("god", "godlike", "power", "fate")), was a generic term for minor gods or spirits. They were not considered good or evil as a whole, but rather, they had the same moral capacity as humans to be either good, evil, or...

SCYLLA, one of the new Titans from GODZILLA: King Of The Monsters - zSCYLLA - Buy Royalty Free 3D model by dopepope
Kong ruled in the cinemas around the world, so I think I can share some of my favorite illustrations & concept arts I did, more than two years ago, at the early stage of the visual development of the Kong: Skull Island movie. It was amazing adventure, great experience and at the same time my last work on non-personal project :] Big thanks to the director Jordan Vogt-Roberts for the trust and this amazing opportunity!
