A great street shot in old Japan. It looks like the early 1890s. Location and photographer both unknown to me. I love stores like this. I could spend at least half an hour here, no problem....and buy a bunch of that stuff. A young boy is smiling at the camera from the shadows of the store. I have posted this at FULL SCAN FILE SIZE. Hit the ALL SIZES button, then hit ORIGINAL. Once you are "in" you can look around and see some of the goods of 120 years ago --- especially the odd little things being sold on the tables. (Don't spend all of your money here. There are other shops yet to visit) This photograph is special, in that it begins a run of images where I have decided to say nothing controversial or disparaging about Japan, and avoid all rants like I avoid the plague. Having gotten tired of listening to myself, I need a change. You may place your bets now, as to how long you think this will last. If you want to leave a comment below, that's OK. I'm playing catch up......I completed my little row of baskets. I tried to choose fabric that represented what a basket might hold. This one might hold some strawberries..... This basket could be used to pick flowers. This basket is for picking cherries. This basket just looks pretty :) This basket is for apple picking. Here's another basket to use for picking flowers. Could this basket be used to hold cotton balls, or bubbles? Lol! Here are my seven little baskets all in a row. I've chosen the fabric for the skinny border and the scalloped border......stay tuned!
