One of the best things about the holiday season is stuffing a favorite pair of flannel pjs in a weekender and hitting the road. It’s the time of year many of us find ourselves en route to the in-laws’ cabin, the favorite cousin’s home, or the old college friend’s apartment. Quality time aside, staying overnight […]

Quilted Vest // Corduroy Skirt // Booties // Plaid Scarf // Riding Boots // Plaid Shirt // Denim // Basic Tee // Felt Hat // Lace-Up Flats // Cozy Cardigan Happy Tuesday 😊 Today I want to share what I consider to be the "essentials" to building the perfect fall wardrobe. I absolutely love dressing for the fall. It is such a refreshing change going from summer to fall. I'm pretty sick of the warm temperatures, and although my mind is definitely set on fall, the weather isn't allowing blanket scarves just yet. So, while I'm waiting for the season to set in, I'm making sure that I have all of my fall essentials ready to wear. It is a great time to stock up on these pieces, because several are on sale and others will be selling out before you know it. Let's get right to the list! Quilted Vest This is a must-have on my list. I wear these year after year...they never go out of style! I did add the new heather tigerlily color to my collection this year, and goodness is it gorgeous! The color is even more amazing in person. I love pairing these vests with dresses, over plaid button-ups, over basic tees with a plaid scarf...the options are endless! I'm also obsessing over this new style J.Crew vest with the corduroy details. Corduroy Skirt A corduroy skirt is another timeless piece you'll find yourself wearing year after year. I'm loving the color of this brown one as I just purchased it! It's amazing with a gold button and zipper for closure in the back. I'm also loving this one and this one for fall. I love the way a corduroy skirt looks when paired with riding boots and a basic tee tucked in with the vest layered over that. Booties I have way too much fun with booties and pair them with EVERYTHING! I have accumulated so many adorable pairs this year. These, these and these are probably my very favorites that I have purchased. I pair them with dresses, skirts, denim, anything! Plaid Scarf Can you really be prepared for fall without a plaid scarf or two? I know I can't 😬 There are so many amazing and affordable ones out right now. If you're looking for a blanket style one, this one is amazing! If you're like me and are wanting something lighter weight, this one is perfect and is only $19. Riding Boots Riding boots are also a must-have item on my list. I'm a huge fan of the Tory Burch pairs, especially when they go on sale! But if you're looking for a classic pair that won't put a dent in your bank account, check out this pair! Plaid Shirts Can you ever have too much plaid?! Not in my book. From flannels to blouses, plaid shirts are so versatile for fall. I wear them with denim and tucked into my corduroy skirts. I love layering them with my vests as well. I recently purchased this one and love it! This one is another great option. Denim I always make sure to have a good pair of denim or two on hand. I have tried many many brands, and I have officially decided that the best pairs always come with a price tag. But they always pay themselves off, in my opinion. I'd rather buy one nice pair that I know I'm going to wear a ton than keep buying pair after pair, hoping they'll be as good. This pair is a recent purchase of mine, and I'm obsessed! They're so soft, the knees don't stretch out (I find this so annoying when they stretch and feel they never go back to their normal shape), and they are a 27" inseam which is perfect for wearing them with booties. I also love this style of AG jeans. And if I had to recommend a more reasonably priced pair, I'd say the Rockstar denim! Basic Tee You can never have too many of these! I love to have several color solids, especially a good white one. I love this one that is only $18 and comes in five great colors. I also like to have a striped basic tee as I adore the way it looks paired with a plaid blanket scarf. This knot front one is my current favorite tee of mine! Felt Floppy Hat I love felt hats! However, I hate when they are just too floppy and "flop" in my face. This hat is amazing and has a great structure to it. It's under $40 and comes in several colors! I have already purchased it in two. I adore the way floppy hats looks paired with cardigans, plaid shirts, and so much more for fall! Lace-Up Flats The former ballerina in me has has an obsession with lace-up shoes from the minute I laid eyes on them. I love the dainty touch they add. This pair is affordable, comfortable and comes in several colors. Cozy Cardigans I have also accumulated quite a few cozy cardigans! Goodness do I love to just throw them on over my pjs in the morning and dress them up with my outfit later on. My favorite ways to style these are to throw them over sleeveless dresses (so that I can wear certain dresses into the fall) and layer them over a tee, paired with denim. What are some of the must-have essentials on your fall wardrobe list? I always love to hear of new pieces to add to mine. The cool, crisp weather will be here before we know it! 🍁 Thanks so much for stopping by! Delightfully Yours, Shop The Post: JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. One of the questions I get asked most frequently is what fashion items (shoes, clothes, etc.) are essentials or must-haves. I think this does depend on your age and “life stage”; but there are certain fashion pieces that every woman should have in her closet by age 30. Today I decided to round up the 10 items every woman should have. I’ve talked a bit about each below, and have given options at various price points if you are still in the market for any of these 10 must haves! LINKS UPDATED: Fall 2021 1. A Well Made Handbag Don’t get me wrong, I love an fun, lasts-only-a-season bag. But; by the time you hit 30 you need at least one well made handbag. For many women this may mean a designer staple – like the Prada Saffiano or Louis Vuitton Neverfull – but it can also be a more affordable option that is made with materials that stand the test of time. My personal recommendations for affordable brands would be Tory Burch and Michael Kors. I have had my Michael Kors Zip Top Jet Set bag for 5 years and the straps are just starting to show their wear […]
